I keep hearing people talk about the MotoGP "spectacle", what exactly is said spectacle and why does it make MotoGP better? Is the spectacle the crowd of fans at the races, more tents and booths, better beer, more hotdog vendors, more umbrella girls? Or are you talking about the paddock spectacle or the on track racing spectacle?
What saves MotoGP for me is the 125 and 250 racing, which is almost always outstanding. However the MotoGP class, as I said this before in another post, the last few years has been racing blue balls, all the build up and a serious let down come race day. All of this business of which is "better" depends on how you are defining the word, but everyone has their reasons for preferring one or the other. Myself I watch because of the racing, the on track action, the passing. WSBK on top of having great start to finish racing most of the time, has two races per weekend, hard to beat for the race fan. I want more then anything for MotoGP to prove me wrong, to show up WSBK and have at least as good of racing as 2006 with the 990's. I will always follow MotoGP, it is the pinnacle of moto racing, but the way things have been lately, I know come Sunday not to expect an exciting race.
