In 2006, Moto Gp was my favourite by a mile.SBK barely registered with me.

But in 2009, I would have to say SBK has the edge.

This is mainly to do with the fact that SBK will have a grid twice the size, and with a lot more actual racing than Moto Gp.

However I still will watch both series whenever possible, and hopefully Hayden can go for the title in GP

Moto GP! I care alot more who comes 2:eek:nd or 3rd or 5th in MotoGP for instance. Then there is the teams and makers that develope the bikes alot more during season and it's interresting to see what they come up with.

In past years moto gp was the hands down winner. But judging on how next year is looking I think world super bike might have the upper hand. The fact that they race bikes that are at one point factory stock appeals to some people. Plus SBK runs some pretty cool tracks moto gp does not like miller and potumao. Rider wise this year will get more intresting for us americans being that Ben spies will be joining the action and the manufactures will be very intresting as well with BMW and Aprilia in the mix. SBK will have 2 races down by the time moto gp starts (i think). So for bar none no ........ racing SBK is the way to go. I love moto gp but in recent years it has become a soap opera with all the manufacture crying, Tyre ........ and all the other drama that comes along with moto gp. So SBK is looking more like a serious challenger to moto gp instead of just a feeder series. What I would love to see is Rossi Stoner Hayden Lorenzo .../wankdrosa in a SBK race. I think after next year many people will start to change they're opinion as well

Its close i think wsbk will be the better class to watch and how things have changed for MotoGp there were 37 riders took part in practice for the 500cc race in japan just back in 1992.
and there were 34 riders in the 500cc race in Australia 1993

A seat in GP still carries the kudos, the pedigree, and is the more coveted ride. The racing and the grid size may well have depreciated, and WSB may well be a greater spectacle this year, but GP is the blue ribbon class, and a prototype series. The machines are unquestionably harder to set up and master - getting to grips with carbon discs alone can take an entire close season of testing for new riders. They don't have to worry about learning the qualifiers anymore though.

I grew up watching GP, so I'm biased. I even watched it over WSB in the mid 90's, and it can't get any duller than that...can it?

GP then....although I forgot to register a vote, which is the entire point of this thread. I'll do it now

Very tough call.

After much debating I think it all boils down to which series I'm more looking forward to starting, and that would be WSBK. Think about it, Aprilia BMW Spies, and Haga taking Troy's seat. It's only blemish is the change up in SuperPole.

MotoGP

if you've never been.. just hearing those monsters, even the 800s, sounds like satan himself is coming for you.. now, i'll watch any motorcycle track-based stuff i can get my hands on, so no need to choose, i love it all.. but wsbk definitely had the best nail biters last year (save laguna).. no doubt.

the way i look at it is this.

i you were to try and convince someone to watch a bike race because it was exciting and spectacular etc. etc. which series would you suggest?
WSB/WSS wins this hands down, no contest..

Come on Guys... Motogp hands down..
I still would like to see a cross over though of the top riders in each class go at it for one or two races... This would settle everything..

Who's the best..The top GP guys or the top SBK guys...

For me definitely the WSB at the moment. I just have to look at the grid...if Hopper could get on the Stiggy Honda I can not imagine what more could we need for 2009?! Oh yeah, 46 for at least one race!
