Which 250cc drivers deserve a Moto GP ride?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Wander @ Aug 9 2008, 08:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Sorry for double-post, but there's some new info regarding Mika Kallio's next year ride:

In his website, Kallio says that the negotiations are progressing as planned in schedule.

Apparently, he has three choices: Kawasaki, satellite Ducati and Hondan JiR-satellite team. He's saying that the choice won't come down to money, but to what team will be able to provide the most competetive package.

The confirmation for his next year contract will be provided at the end of this month.

What do you guys think?

Honda.
If you need an explanation then you wouldn't understand.

Definitely

Nah, Honda would be a riskless choice (and propably more competetive), but Kawasaki would be much more interesting!

Simoncelli would be a good one to come up but I think they all could use another year in the 250's. Bautista and Kallio seem to be almost ready to blossom into a gp ride. All the others really should stay in the 250's to gain a bit more experience. Then maybe Sylvain G can leave and go somewhere else cause he pretty much sucks just like Depoopya and even Toni Elais. Those 3 barely do anything to even have their name mentioned. You also have Nakano who may be having one of his best seasons but he isn't anyones competition so he needs to go as well.

I think Simonchelli is ready. I don't know about the rest. I would love to se Kallio up there, but I don't know if he's fast enough, and sending him up too early would ruin any chanse later. He has allways been on the KTM and it's hard to evaluate him against the rest, allthough he now regulary beats his teammate.

Not sure what you mean by that. I am just saying who I think is ready for the big bikes. So some others feel the same some different what does that matter? Whoever comes up I hope they are better than some of those guys who have been there for a while that just never do much.

I think he is to right along with Bautista and Kallio. It will be great to see them come up but your right about putting him in there to early. Look at Jorge and he was easily ready for the big time. He was killin it right from the start. Now he is trying to recover from his many crashes. Friggin good rider though and I almost sure he will be champion before Pedrosa ever will. I just hope that whoever Ducati picks up from the new crop can ride the bike half as good as Stoner.

It's cool but dude I have been watching Gp racing for many years. Motorcycles have been a passion of mine since I was 5 or 6 years old. Right about the time your in 1st grade. Ever since the had anything at all on tv I would watch it. The old superbikers series, Gp's, anything at all even hill climbs. So The only way I would really be a newbie is if you actually put me on a GP bike and told me go for it. Man you could call me a newbie all day for that and it would be just fine by me. Desmosedici please!!!

Yeah the Desmosedici is nice.
I can't resist posting this pic again.
(That's me on a Desmosedici if you can't work it out)

But the matter about who people see as Moto GP level riders is all about opinion. If someone feels like Guintolini or Nakano or whoever hasn't shown enough to be in MotoGP, he may think so. Others may disagree.

I myself don't really consider any riders to be too bad to be riding in Moto GP. Some people may look at it like that but I don't.
