What do you ride ?

It's no H2 (sweet bike!), but this is my $1200 K5 GSXR 600 track bike. Going in next week for new fork seals, chain/sprocket kit, and to install my Pirelli Supercorsa V2 tires. After that, suspension set up by TrackSide Suspension here in WI, then Road America and Blackhawk Farms!

Sweet Gixxer mate, having the suspension dialled in properly with those super sticky Supercorsa tyres makes a huge difference to how they ride. I'd like to turn my 750 into a track bike, but its so pretty I'm too scared to hurt it. I love the Supercorsa tyres but i do notice they get pretty ordinary after too many heat cycles, just put a new set on mine last week. I'm actually doing the Calafornian Superbike School Level 1 & 2 with it tomorrow & Tuesday .. cant wait.

I'm actually in the market for the right cheap/hardly ridden 450 MotoXer of some sort that I'll set up for dirt track with a few buddies who are into it. I loved MotoX as a kid but do remember that most of my memorable stacks all seemed to involve big jumps so dirt track is perfect compromise.

Wow, doing a rod on a bike that seems so new is a worry, what year model is it? Lucky you stalled it when it finally gave way rather than having the rear tyre lock up on you at freeway speeds. Seems odd that it runs and sounds different if all they did was replace standard internals like for like?

It's 2015. It is an affordable beginner bike so the quality may not be probably top notch. As I said I'm not so sure what to think of the difference. It may not have been running properly before the break down or something is not just right. It does run better now at freeway speed somehow. It doesn't feel like huffing and puffing like it did before. But the vibration at lower gear is definitely new.

Another pushrod bike here: 1972 BMW R 75/5 daily driver.

I would post a pic but it's just like the thousands of others they made that you still see out on the road!

Povol, finally you bought the right bike!

I bought a 2012 14r when first released, had it for 3 years and sold it, thinking I,d be sensible and get a yamaha mt09 tracer instead. Huge mistake. the Tracer has a nice motor, but the suspension was garbage and I couldn,t get rid of the wind turbulence from the narrow based screen. Sold it after a year and once aqain re-united with another green 2012 zx14r. I am happy again.

Moral of the story. Don,t try to go captain sensible!

Glad you joined the club Pov. :)

By the sound of it, it seems to be running better. The main thing is that they fixed it all up for you and that it didn't cause you to have a nasty spill.... perfect excuse to get yourself a well deserved upgrade ;)

Had the 02 12R before the 14R, put over 100000 miles on it and it still ran and looked new. Some ....... in a cage pulled a u turn on the gap and totaled it out or I would still be on it. Best bike I ever owned.

Could it be something like the motor mounts not tight?

Can you find one of similar age to "test ride", so you can make a comparison between the two engines? This way you can make a reasonable assessment as to whether they fixed your bike properly.
Agree with ajv though... treat yourself!!!

I'd love to get on a new bike but again, I'm saving some money for Motegi.

I'm going back to the shop on Wednesday for free oil change and check up. I already told them about the vibration. I'll see what they say.

New for me...Triumph Street Triple 675R...

Future Mods will need to be;
- New exhaust (possibly this one )
- Bar End mirrors
- Triumph Quickshifter
- and other small adjustments...

Nice. I've been thinking about buying one as a daily ride. Of course I have pros and cons for that. So I'm trying to get more "not on paper info" from people who actually have one.
FYI, my other options are FZ-07, FZ-09, and Africa Twin.

How tall are you? The Africa Twin is an AWESOME option, but unless you are on the tall side, be prepared to have issues with the height. The 750 is a great bike for daily riding, as are the FZ's you mention. I imagine it all comes down to personal preference. My 750 was a flawless street bike. I only made it a track tool after I picked up my Repsol and decided it was too beautiful to risk at the track.

As for "not on paper" info, I really couldn't say there are any glaring issues with the bike. Be sure whatever one you look at has the head bearings and fork seals sorted properly, as these bikes tend to have been rode hard and have a propensity towards wheelies. Hence the head bearings and fork seals needing a good look.

Best of luck in your search and I hope this helped!
