I'll just come out and say it. I'm loosing my interest in bike racing. I couldn't even be arsed to get up at 7:00 am to watch the last race.

Of course, my favorite rider is going fishing, but that really should not be a problem. I've watched bikeracing long before his ascent and loved it. I enjoyed many races he was not in, or was languishing around off pace.

But I'm getting sick of the, in my eyes, increasing influence of short term commercial interest on the sport. I feel like the whole thing is becoming increasingly rigged. "The show" seems to be all that is important now, rather than offering something that I would feel is actually a sport. And it looks like it's only going to get a lot worse.

All of that is completely subjective of course. You may want to argue with me about whether I am right or wrong to feel this way, or you may want to make some remote psychological assesment, but I'm afread that will not change things a lot. I think it's going to be make or break during the next two years, and it's getting pretty likely that I'll stop watching altogether.

So what do you guys think? I'm I the only one out there who is considering switching off?

If I was in your paranoid shoes, I´d have stopped viewing a while back!

If the MM/moto 2 conspiracy prooves true, I´ll join you at watching Chess. Mind vs. Mind, no fooling around there!

Born n Breed into Racing LOOOOOOOVE IT (Or i did)

i have always tried to work my schedule round watching motogp Quali Races etc for years

not any more

i cant remember this year the last FP Quali sessions i went out of my way to watch them

Certainly the last few races i have been out doing other stuff i couldn't give a ..... about MotoWWE

This sundays race i recorded i didnt get up to watch it live

i watched the recording in about 1 min by fast forwarding the rec chapters

I Enjoyed BSB & CIV Live yesterday though

My Remote votes by turning motogp off and i have no intention of changing my view of it anytime soon

Agree with everything you say buddy (as usual)....cant be arsed with manufactured and manipulated "entertainment". I am much more interested in a real contest even if the winner ..... off into the distance every race....been watching some of the racing in the late 80's early 90's recently and its was utterly enthralling and far more "entertaining" without the blatant rule manipulation we see nowadays.

The move to four stokes was the beginning of the end for me and I cant recall a time where I have been so apathetic towards bike racing. I doubt I will stop watching altogether but I certainly dont feel like giving any of my money to Dorna for entrance fees or pay per view....sad days.

The problem for me started long before the current Moto2 controversy, if you don't me calling it that.

i think a lot of people do.

but whatcha gonna do.... watch nascar instead?

there were many things that pissed me off in the past couple of years, sure.

but once a gp addict, always a gp addict. i'll stop watching when they stop broadcasting.

i don't trust ezy(and the manufacturers for that matter) one bit, but i have to remain hopeful that things will improve.

just from what is being proposed for 2014 and beyond sounds good to me so i'm hanging in there to give it a shot.i will always want to see the best riders and for the near future that is bound to be in motogp, especially with no tc,engine brake control etc.

We'll watch and whine, watch and grizzle,

Cause its all a bit of a Euro fizzle

But fast bikes or even fast cars

Is better than dancing with the ....... stars

Burning rubber?

Kills Big Brother.

Even all the bikes in a line

Who cares if a farmer get a wife

You can buy them online

They Loooove you and cook and clean

and white ones are strife.

The problem is TV,

So very little to see

Got discovery?Like a doco?

Count the times you've watched it

Fat people eating, Fat people crying

Fat people cooking, teaching fat people to fry in

So it loses its credibility, but theres no real replacement?

Other than Watching Doohan, Lawson and Schwantz in the basement?

Get a barbed wire joint and suck it deep .

You'' watch the bikes then munch off to sleep.

so its a bit rigged and they've picked who will win

who isn't so jaunty or proud after his Ducati fling

Snapped up the opposition and sent the script breaker home to fish.

But that's what we're left with...

Ain't life a .....

I'll be watching, if there's something better I'll change channels....

Well I swapped to motogp from F1 for similar reasons. Having said that I am still watching the end of the F1 season this year due to the game I run etc. Can't drop people mid season. The bikes hold my attention more than the F1 does now and even my daughter watches the motogp, she'd never watch F1 at all.

I am a Vettel fan, so I should be loving this F1 season, especially now, but it's not about the racing anymore which is what you seem to be feeling too. See I don't know how the racing was, I've seen precisely 3 races so far but as I say, I'm enjoying it more than the F1, it seems far more honest to me. Of course if the BBC do stop showing it and it goes to Sky or something, well I'll be looking for another series to enjoy it seems

bravo andy,bravo !!!

i'll go for the watch the classics in the basement and munch off to sleep bit

This is my last year of MotoGP.com subscription. The last 3-4 rounds I haven't watched FP or QP and missed 1 race entirely. I did watch QP last round.

I don't watch MotoGP for contrived entertainment. I watch it for sport. If I want to be entertained by something scripted I will go to the movies.

The last straw for me is Marquez. Just another silver spooner who will have it all handed to him on a platter. We were almost rid of the current silver spooner and now there is another one coming through.

I also find Lorenzo's traction control style ultra boring. I know he is fast but he never looks it and I get no adrenaline rush from watching it.

Ultimately I just want to,stick it to the man. Not resubscribing is my way of telling Ezpeleta to go stick his MotoWWF up his arse.

Now days I spend my viewing time watching extreme enduro like Erzberg and Romaniacs on YouTube.

I too am bored with the commercialisation of racing. BSB and to an extent WSBK are still excellent racing and not ALL about the money. But as long as manufacturers dominate a series and thus can plough billions into it you're never going to stop chequebook racing. Plus there are some riders out there I could whip on my Gixxer, who says its all about skill?

What is sport? What is a pure sport? How do you make MotoGP a pure sport? Was there ever a time when MotoGP was a pure sport?

I hate what they've done with F1. Like you, I progressed from F1 to bikeracing, but quite a long time ago (during the 90's).
