wait i thought the death of motogp was the CRTs?.. or was it the Spanish Repsol Honda strong arming rule changes? no wait it was the tires!?
He is big, it's the rest of the riders that got small.Marlboro Sunset Boulevard for Valentino Rossi...
The prime example of someone who is confused between what is good for the sport & what is good for their enjoyment of the sport.Hence the quote " more stupidity". Dorna cant seem to help themselves from making bad decisions when it comes to Moto GP. The slightest hint of " fixing the series" to propel Rossi back to the front will not end well. What happens when the horde stomps their feet demands wins and championships instead of just being competitive. If Dorna were smart, which they are not, they would let Rossi fade into the sunset naturally and focus on the future of the series, instead of looking for a 2 year quick fix. I guess they figure if they can dilute the series enough, he can hang around and be competitive till he is 40 like the riders in WSBK.

What would be good for my enjoyment of the sport is Hayden and Spies winning every race. Ironically, my favorite era of GP was when Rossi was winning title after title, not because i liked Rossi, but because the advancement of the machines was incredible. I will say it again, for Dorna to get involved in who is on what machine, is not good for the sport.
Hmmm, Interesting stuff:
"
A return to Yamaha remains an option for Rossi, while HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto told Motosprint he would be interested in placing the Italian in a works-supplied satellite team.
"I'd like to work with Valentino. When he was at Honda I was on the Formula 1 programme, so the only time I've seen him racing with us from our pits was at the Suzuka 8-hour race," he said.
"It hasn't been possible to place him in the works team, but I'm ready to supply him with a factory bike in one of our satellite teams."
Aside from Dovizioso, Rossi's decision could also hold the key to both Cal Crutchlow and Nicky Hayden's futures."

Wow! Really? A big deal if the offer is genuine.

& Letting major sponsors & the wallets of casual fans is? You don't seem to accept that for development of any kind you need the money.I will say it again, for Dorna to get involved in who is on what machine, is not good for the sport.

You might think it's distasteful, but it's reality & it has been since Graham Hill slapped Gold Leaf on the side of his car. & The top 5 of Moto 2 ain't gonna bring it.
The way I see it Dorna are floundering about how to reinvigorate the sport, an attempt to put VR on a potentially winning bike is just buying them time to think something up/make CRT viable. If it's even true, it sounds like a over zealous journalistic wet dream to me.
I think it is big deal for factories where Rossi finish his career so they can use his image and at the same time they know Dani and Marc won't be able to beat Lorenzo next year at least. Rossi could well be past his best but unitl he is on competitive japanese bike again we won't know.
wouldn't want to be bautista right now
Hardly a bad investment when the Moto 2 riders don't have the financial clout. Rossi's time is over when he no longer has that or the desire to ride. If he goes to Yamaha with Marlboro he could potentially be securing their future in the sport beyond his time. Yamaha would be a far better investment for Philip Morris than Ducati anyway right now. There maybe riders in Moto2 who could take it to Lorenzo but they will never find out when all the focus and cash is going Rossi's way. Bad investment strategy.
