Travelling to Aragon MotoGP

I've been a regular visitor to Phillip Island for many years for the motoGP but this year will miss it because the whole family are travelling to the UK / Europe for an extended period. It turns out that we'll be in the South of France for the motoGP weekend of Sept 30.

So my son and I have decided we'll head over to Aragon for the motoGP. It turns out that it's some 850kms from where we are staying so it's becoming more of a journey than what we first thought .... though we're still super keen as motoGP tragics.

So my question is ..... has anyone had experience in getting public transport to Aragon. It's about 100 kms away from Zaragoza. We've considered filghts / trains / car rental etc but it seems difficult to get to unless you've got a car .... any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated. Our starting point is not far from Nice ... worst case we'll just take the car and spend a few days away.

In addition to this, is it necessary to pre purchase grandstand tickets .. or can you just turn up on the day and get them? I know at PI all grandstand tickets would be sold out.

Thanks in advance ...

Buenos dias!

I live in Zaragoza, but ride my bike to Alcañiz.

As far as getting to the track, I know that the last years there has been a bus service from Zaragoza to Motorland, makes for a great mobile shicane! Bus company is called HIFE. Called them up, and they haven´t put up the schedule yet, but they should in the next couple weeks. They will send me some info as soon as they have it and i´ll post it here for ya. I am sure there are also busses from BCN.

Just got off the phone with ticket sales at the track. They told me there should not be a problem getting stand seats day of. I have my tickets for Grada 5. I recomend this stand because it is north facing, and you won´t be looking into the sun. It can get real hot here. First year we faced the sun and nearly melted!

I suggest you send a email to the ticketing at Motorland. Purchasing tickets from them is quite easy and they can probably send it to Nice. That is what I did, and they sent me a free cirquit shirt with each ticket. Last years extras, but nice gesture!!

Hope it helps!!

Hi Baturro,

Thanks a lot for your detailed response. I'll keep a lookout for the HIFE schedule in coming weeks.

Also appreciate the tips about the grandstand ... I was looking at the options but hadn't considered weather / sun as a factor so Grandstand 5 looks like a good option.
