<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (R1 SF @ Sep 28 2008, 05:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Lex one question. Why do you waste your time watching and supporting Motogp if your so sure that its all rigged?

As a side note, I see nothing wrong with how Rossi got his Bridgestones, he obviously knew what he was doing and how important the switch was, if I was in his place I would have made damn sure to use everything in my power to get the change. It was a key factor to winning this championship.

If you wanna ..... about someone using their influence what about Pig,Pedders and HRC
What threats must they have made to get the tyres mid season

It's still the best bikes and best riders on the best circuits with the best TV coverage. I'd like to think the competition is legit, but too many things have been called into question now that the viewership is in steep decline. The sport has always been simple with the focus on the rider. Now we have a complicated sport and equipment is 90% of the championship. 50% of the equipment is the tires.

Of course, you don't see a problem. You probably think the Magic Kingdom is a real castle, the Luxor is a real pyramid, and the Venetian is just as good as Venice.

I like authenticity. Two years on the trot Rossi was beaten. The table was set for one of the greatest comebacks in sport. Now that's gone b/c somebody had to use the governing body to make winning easier.

Ducati/Suzuki/Kawasaki all had openings for riders. If Rossi wanted Bridgestone he could have opted out of his Yamaha contract. That would have been an unbelievable move for the greatest rider in history, but Vale can't leave Burgess behind. Burgess makes motogp legends. So Vale cried to Ezy so he wouldn't have to take a risk.

It isn't uncommon to find yourself in a jam like the one Rossi was in at the end of 2007. He was down and their wasn't a clear way back to the top. Some people breakdown and cry, some people give up and complain the game is rigged, some people learn to be content with mediocrity, some people work harder than ever, some people work smarter with shrewd decisions, some people take wild chances, some people revolt or use violence, some people wait patiently for an opportunity, and some people (the most loathsome of all humankind) use their power to have the rules changed so they always win.

Somebody (Stoner/Ducati) finally went out and did what was required to beat Vale in the long term. 12 months later it is gone, impaired by the governing body.

De Jure Champion Rossi. I have no idea why he chose that title for himself but he did. It was probably the worst decision he has ever made. His followers are clueless so he'll get away with it.

Bless lex the silly paranoid android
So swapping tyres and been the only yamaha on stones against the wish of even the infinetly important Mr Burgess wasnt a risk?Aha right mate w/e you say!
It was the first time we saw proper Biaggi esque (spelling?)whinging from Valentino and after 2 years w/out the title having slumped to 3rd overall he was putting his crediiblity on the line by throwing his weight around even though he wasnt the champion anymore.I mean jesus people were comparing him to Biaggi saying hes finished etc etc.It took him until China to get his bike/tyre package right and take his first win up until this people were still saying ah look he hasnt won a race yet hes done, hes past it,then he stopped Caseys run of wins at Seca and in doing so finally figured out a new way to defeat Stoner in the way he had done with such ease to Biaggi and Gibbers on the 990's.

The reason Valentinos been dominant again is because he's as focused as been since probably 2004.Casey handed Valentino his arse last season and hes responded.

But winning the title today on his new tyres he said he so desperately needed to beat Stoner has justified his bitching and moaning and has proved he was right all along.Personally i think this title is his 2nd best out of them all beaten only by his his first for Yam in 2004.

Two lines into that and I was so sorry I asked.

You talk about this situation and seem to know stuff about tyres that even tyre techs probably don't know,

Two years Valentino recieved crap tyres, he decides to sack Michelin knowing Bridgestones is the tyre to be on
According to you he asks for Bridgestones and is told no, so he uses his influence to get them. Now if lexs story is true. I ask anyone reading this would they have done differently if they were in Valentinos shoes, like hell you would

How is that bending the rules? Mabey you were referring to Honda there!! What Valentino done we
all do everyday of our lives. People are always going to do things that will be an advantage to themselves not a disadvantage

Right, I'm just a blind fanboy, I guess I've been too busy adoring Valentino to see whats going on, but its still all wild speculation inside your crazy little head,
I find all the points you make very entertaining and some even plausable but a massive factor your still missing.
I bet you still talk about who killed JFK and other pointless crap with your buddies at the bar, only wishing one of them was a Motogp fan so you can burn the ears off them

You should give MCN a call, I'm sure they would be glad to have you as part of their team

You people really are pathetic.

Rossi says publicly Michelin are garbage after Laguna 2007. He and Yamaha talk to Bridgestone, Honda are after Bridgestone too. The talks fail. Ezy reveals that they are having technical meetings to discuss the future of the tires. Meeting 1 fails. Meeting 2 fails. Meeting 3 fails. The fourth meeting 3 months after Laguna is a success.

The proposed changes:

1. More tires sets per weekend
2. Rossi to Bridgestone

So if you believe the standard factual reporting, THE ENTIRE CRISIS WAS CAUSED BY VALENTINO BEING ON THE WRONG BRAND OF TIRE.

My conspiracy about them attempting to limit tire performance and mild results engineering by monitoring cornering g's was about the unacceptable tampering with Stoner's defense. It wasn't an attack on a new champ because 4 rounds into the season we had no idea who it was going to be. No matter who won this season it would have been somewhat questionable in my mind.

Rossi compromised himself and he won during a season when I believe Stoner was denied a fair defense. What do you want me to do, pretend like it was the same as all his other championships? Sorry, I've never been big on Disney storylines when it comes to sport.

No thanks. Have fun at the Magic Kingdom.

Your insight into the human condition is astounding Shinya. Your talent is truly wasted here. Truly it is.

Edit: I thought that was Ezy's house Lex. Must be in one of those subdivisions where all the fantasy castles look the same. Oh well...

The irony is dripping. Who's living in a fairytale here?
<

I think his, and my, point are that Rossi have no reason or means to directly pressure Ezy, but his popularity and reputation give him an indirect power for good and bad. He doesn't pressure Ezy or Bridgestone directly, he goes public to say he consider to leave if he can't get the equipment he need to win. And sure that translates to pressure on them, but non the less it is 100% waterproof and absolutely very much exactly what the Rossi we know are able to say and do. He is in this to win, not to take second place. Yesterday he proved his point and I don't see how you can attack him for that.

What ever happened after that will probably never reach the history books, but it is equally clear that Ezy has no personal interest in Rossi but he has an obligation towards Dorna and it's shareholders to keep the sport popular and Rossi is an important piece of that puzzle. If that means that he must twitch Bridgestone’s arm to force them into supplying Rossi tires so be it. It's Bridgestone that in the first place deny Rossi tires as they rather win again with Stoner, than wining with Rossi. In my book that makes Bridgestone the bad guy here, not Ezy, even if his tactics might have been a bit raw. You may say it's unfair because Pedrosa didn't get the stones, but he was stopped by HRC, besides, what's been going on in the HRC team is probably much more unfair than the tire thing. So even in your worst case scenario there is nothing here that doesn't happen every day in the sport, so that's business as usual nothing less nothing more. So who's living in a fairytale?

Maybe others spent too much time listening to The Wall. Do the lyrics to Mother bring anyone to mind?
<

Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?
Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Mother, should I build the wall?
Mother, should I run for President?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Is it just a waste of time?

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
Momma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Momma's gonna put all of her fears into you
Momma's gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing
Momma's will keep Baby cozy and warm
Oooo Babe
Oooo Babe
Ooo Babe, of course Momma's gonna help build the wall

Mother, do you think she's good enough; For me?
Mother, do you think she's dangerous; To me?
Mother will she tear your little boy apart?
Mother, will she break my heart?

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
Momma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Momma won't let anyone dirty get through
Momma's gonna wait up until you get in
Momma will always find out where you've been
Momma's gonna keep Baby healthy and clean
Oooo Babe
Oooo Babe
Ooo Babe, you'll always be Baby to me

Mother, did it need to be so high?

funny that becasuse the lyrics from wish you were here remind me of your posts.

I feel bad for Supershinya. He pretended to act like he had a brain after yet another stupid post after Motegi.
