Looks like Edwards will take the old chassi (hasn't served him so bad so far) and Rossi the new one. Anythoughts on this?

k I know I am not oost lol but I will tell you why. Hayden although very skilled, will settle for second rather than risk binning it. I think the true greats risk more than we think at times in racing. Somebody once said Rossi only rides at like 70% of his ability......I beg to differ he is a champion he only settles for second if it is just absolutely impossible to win...otherwise he pushes to the fullest limit his nerves will allow for at least a couple of laps per race.
<

I can't see Rossi setting for second in races this year though, can you?
Hayden won't be settling for them much longer either.

I was only saying that to stir Ooost up because he said Bayliss could beat Rossi`s M1 on his old 600 AND HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC!?!

Appreciate your insight though.

Enjoy the race folks!

the big question had an answer. And what an answer....I'm spechless after such a great race.
Congrats Rossi and Loris!!

Well all you die-hard Rossi fans got what you wanted...and all of us 'close racing' fans got what we wanted.

It just goes to show how close it is at the top. Rossi is indeed tenacious and determined but not miles better than everyone else, he's the best guy out there and has been for some time but if he was so much better we wouldn't have races like yesterdays'. Rossi must win the title this year to put him up to true legend status in my eyes. I like to see him get it tough, he never has really had before. He may do it, but I think frosty said the old Rossi dominance is gone, well for now I think that nails it, too many of the guys are also very fast this year. We saw that yesterday.

True, that was a close one yesterday, but I think he could've pulled away if his bike was as powerful as the Ducati's or the Honda's... His bike was nothing compared to those ones yet he managed to win because, given such a horrible bike, he had the talent to pull through.

Don't buy it, Sete tried lap after lap to get a jump on Vale and couldn't. That was as good a two-bike drag race as you're gonna see.

Who was consistantly fastest thru the speed trap in the last part of the race? Rossi.

rossi said in the post race interview that he made a 'mistake' about in lap 10 where he was relagated to 5th in one corner... somethin about shuttin the throttle off for too long ...

what a load of crap! .... looked like he just wanted someone to chase and play with.

IMO he and Loris forgot that there are otther riders near them, they challenged each other on that staight line and breaking real late especially rossi.Sete took advantage but in the end Rossi and Capirossi had their final fight.

That's exactly what happened. Rossi knew Cappers was there and wanted to follow him for a few laps so he shut off the throttle for a half second and he didn't know everyone else was there. At least that's what he said during the press conference.

Oh Richo, haven't you figured out that I like Bayliss yet? The fact of the matter is, you put him on that '92 Kwaker 600 and he just might pull a rabbit out of his ....

that`s what the CYT press release said. I`ll go with that. Technically, It`s a mistake anyway.

MY bike has rear view mirrors, and it only cost $600.

I`m saying 2 '92 Kawa ZZR600s with Metzler Road tyres at Oran Park and watch Bayliss flog Rossi

Too true. This year and the years to come are Rossi`s tests. In my eyes, if he passes them, he`ll be a legend like KRSR or Doohan, the man who singlehandedly fought of generation after generation of Honda`s finest, claimed world titles in 5 different classes, and the only man ever to win a 990 world championship. If he fails he`ll just be a good rider who couldn`t take the heat of real hard competition.

Oran Park will only be round for a few more years...

they reckon they will rebuild it ... but, still, it won't be the same.
