Bring it on i reckon. I mention during last years silly season that Talmacsi should skip 250's and go straight to motogp.

Dude isnt Gabor like 28, I think he is a little too old to be racing against teenagers anyway
congratulations on beating a bunch of kids who just went through piuberty for the 125 championship.
well at least Canepa will have some one to pass

He is old....and he ruined Kallio's and KTM's 125 title hopes at Qatar in 2005....
BUT he is Fast, and would certiainly be beating a lot of MotoGP regulars back markers and possibly be doing nearly as well as RDP....
Having said that, Gabor presence in the bike class would serve to push Mika Kallio to be even better sooner....
So bring him on!

1.Old? Kallio is only 1 year younger. Come ooon!
<

2.Yes he made a mistake in Qatar, he should not have passed Mika (the finnish had serious title chances and anyway, that was the team order). Although I definitely disagree that he was the one who ruined Kallio and KTM title hopes. Mika had a DNF in Turkey two events later, he crashed from 3rd position on the last lap. That cost him a lot more than the discussed 5 points (taken by Gabor in Qatar).
3.However I am not sure he is ready for MotoGP, the rivalry with Kallio would make the rest of the season more interesting. If he could fight Mika on that non-factory Scot Honda that would mean something, because Mika is good right now! Hope we'll see that!

Uhm, dude... Talmacsi was riding in the 250s this year so he'd have little effect on Smith's run in the 125s!!!

Yes, I just don't see it right seeing 'old man' riding a 'mini bike'

Does his age really matter?

I don't know how the scene is like in Hungary, but not everyone has the luxury of starting out racing in their teens. The fact that he is able to race on the world stage itself is an admirable feat, regardless of his age. Or maybe, we should say that the fact he is able to win a championship in the 125cc class is admirable because of his age. He is disadvantaged in both the tangible and intangible terms. Not only is he heavier, he probably is less energetic and his injuries probably don't heal as fast.

Gabor has a problem with arm strength after a big crash a while ago,I know for sure that his muscle is withered. Is it wise for him to be on an 800cc bike?
<

Age shouldn't matter. Discrimination has actually kept a number of people out of GP racing and given us robots and brats like Pedrosa and Casey.
Gabor is a good rider from a 2 tier country and deserves the success he's achieved.

Well.... Talmacsi seems like a popular rider amongst motor bike racing fans, maybe it has something to do with cheering for an oldman so he can teach the young bucks to have some respect for the elder? Whatever the case, the guy has shown he's capable of racing regardless of his age.... not like he's an old dog anyways once he gets on the big stage that is MotoGP, if of course the rumor is true.

Man I can't believe Kallio is that old. He looks like a kid, especially compared to Gabor.

I thought that was Pasini? People said he'd struggle on the 250's.

Or maybe Gabor just looks old for his age. 27/28 or whatever isn't really too old at all for MotoGP. They should still have 6 good years at the very least. More if there are no major injuries.

prob is he is not really that fast at 26 to warrant a place in motogp. a kid at age 19/20 with the same pace as gabor would prob show much more ability to laern and adapt and imporve on a motogp than a guy who should be in his prime by now......

Ducati should give him Gibber's bike for Mugello and we will see how fast he is!
<

There is nothing to lose for Ducati, if he is slow the reason will be him (in the media), not the bike. If they give the bike to some big name and the guy will be a backmarker, everybody will blame the GP9...and nobody will want that bike for next year.
Btw Mika & Talma on the same bike...hehe that would be awesome!
<

Kallio would beat him probably, but the media would love bringing up another rivalry.

When you say nobody will want the bike next year.....................

Hayden will be back next year. I know the conventional wisdom is that he won't but unless Hayden quits, he'll be back for one more shot.
