Suzuki to get 3 more engines, WTF

It was inevitable mate besides there will be a host of changes for 2011/12 again I guess.

It's things such as this that cause the series to appear fixed and illegitimate. The engine rule the MSMA imposed on themselves seemed rushed and not very well thought out. Dorna is barely holding together a cracked ship that is just waiting to sink. The MSMA has made poor decision after poor decision. They need someone to strong hand the series and stick to a solid well planned set of rules that looks to the future and not just next month or next year. The advent of the new 1000cc rule and claiming teams is just going to muddy the situation even more.

This is a slippery slope they are heading down. Favoritism will not be tolerated by the fan base, regardless of reason. I do find it interesting that a few of the comments after the article mentioned DMG

as a comparison to what is happening in Moto GP

In a way they are putting there toes in the water in 2011 (some bigger bikes to appear apparently) so the opportunity is there for them to study closely what gives and amend the rules for 2012.I do fear (as Pov said) a slippery slope if it goes .... up mind.

I don't mind. Actually, they should be allowed unlimited engines and be required to start 30 seconds before everybody.

Its been suggested that Nicky's engine has been detuned to last a few races. How may engines has he used?

I believe this is the case for more than just Nicky. LCR is gonna seriously detune Roger Hayden bike. He should be within the bottom 1/3 of the class, if he is way off the pace, it could be argued that his motor has the power of moped.

who are the bopper here ??

Whether a given rider is "detuned" or not, as long as there is doubt and double standards (like more engines for Suzuki) the class will suffer.

I think any true fan of racing wants to see the best on the track at every event. I personally am saddened by the prospect (and reality) of riders getting detuned bikes in order to conserve equipment. That is NOT what MotoGP should be about.

Amen brother, its not what the premier bike racing series in the world should look like.

i think thats exactly the point

am i a fan of the engine rule if the result is double standards and riders conserving instead of racing to the fullest?surely not!

but am i an advocate of throwing suzuki a bone to keep them in motogp because lets face it,even if they had a new engine every single round they wouldn't pull anything this year? yeah sure. I'd rather have suzuki still following the field instead of 1-2 laughs because they are out of engines and consequently leave the sport in 2011,giving a struggling class another crucial blow

i'm very sorry to say this, but i can't even pretend to care about SUZUKI getting an advantage

motogp = nascar

favortism, detuned motors, spec tires, hell they might as well ditch all the tracks and just run ovals. LOL.

WSBK is looking MUCH more promising.

And this is why I dont own a Suzuki, LOL.

Think of the implications that this could have on the championship. Its not out of the question that a Suzuki with fresh engine could take points away from someone fighting for a title, but is forced to race with a clapped out, exhausted 3 or 4 race engine that could blow at any time.. Its just not right.
