AFAIK Race 1

Saturday 10am CET

They don't race in Sunday cause of the religion. Apparently you go to hell if your race a bike on Sundays.

the MGP race is sceduled on a Saturday too.

TRADITIONALLY Christians did the same thing with a "day of rest" on a sunday, stemming from its Jewish roots who also have a day of rest ... which i think is on Saturdays from memory. On the day of rest, no one does anything... as little as possible. Some branches of the religions go so far as to not turn on a lightswitch because it is considered as "working". ( we had them come knock on our door and ask us to turn it on for them... but would knocking be considered working?) But basically, over time... people have become busier and so a fair chunk of the population no longer take part in the 'rest day'.

hence why in the rest of the world the races can be on a sunday.

The thing I still don't get is say you had a Jewish Formula 1 driver - Formula 1 being a series in which they always race on a Sunday, would this affect them? No?
<

the Jewish day of rest is a Saturday i think ....

other than that it depends how devoted they are .... some people say they're a religion, but dont actually practice it.... and some just dont bother with a day of rest at all, its nothing but history to them.

Well they only race on Saturdays in Qatar because the religion in arab countries has a lot more influence than in the western world.

The only other race on Saturday is Assen, which was scheduled that way for the same reason since the 1920's! Though nowadays it's just kept that way because of tradition.
