Stoner critical of Hayden

I think that's a very mis-guided and narrow-minded point of view. Rossi and the ducati team are not out there just to gather points this season. There trying to build a championship contending bike. Throwing down the road is no help in that cause.

I agree with Povol but i don't think it is in any way a disrespectful or negative statement. Stoner's approach would likely be yeilding a similar overall result to Rossi's but Valentino is using a much more measured and progressive approach, like you say in an effort to build a better motorbike that is comfortable running at the front on a regular basis (although you could argue that was not an option available to Casey).

exactly rog, they knew this year would be tough.... rossi knows if he pushes to hard and has a nasty off the plan for making a contending bike would be finished.

there doing the best they can at the moment with setup and trying a some new bits but wont get parts to help fix these problems for another few races as he has stated in interviews.

I wonder why Nicky thinks the little coward would even come talk to him like a man, this is typical Stoner. Give a pissed hand signal while he speeds away then cry to the media (that he claims to dislike) instead of having a face to face. Just watch your back Nicky, the guy's been known to commit the most cowardly of acts and throw a sucker punch, never mind the times he's stood people up in practice this year. Stoner's head is going to explode next year when there are 20+ bikes on the grid, it's sad that he honestly thinks people are out to get him. Atleast he has something besides all his talent to keep us all entertained with.

Wha-a-a-a-at................How come no-one is jumping down the throat of you blokes ?? Where do you buy an insult free membership from?

I joined up to this forum, and in my first post mentioned I didn't like Stoner 'cause he's a whinging little sook ( in the same breath said this had nothing to do with his riding ability)...............and all of a sudden it was like I was on the Western Front, 1917 !!!!

Insults and " How dare you" ........"Disgrace" and all sorts flying my way.

Less than three days later, he goes and shows an example of exactly what I was on about !!

Hayden "Deliberately" blocking ???!!!???...............as was stated earlier..........this is just not in the blokes make up.

Clearly what is going to have to happen to stop this nonsense is that there will have to be two Qualifying sessions.

One where Stoner is the only bike on the track.

The other for everyone else.

.......then again, I can hear it now......" I was coming toward turn seven, and the flag marshall sneezed, blowing some kitty litter right on to my line, I had to back off and pick it up"

All track officials will have to wear...................argh, I give up............. Next will be the Rossi haters saying that clearly Rossi had gotten Hayden to perform this darstedly act under team orders so as to protect his own golden image.......you know,.....Nicky being Rossi's personal Tester and general Lackey.......
<
<

Is he the only bloke to ever have some-one on a slower lap get in his way ??..........fair bloody dinkum.

If only his personality and decorum were as outstanding as his riding.

Cheese and Rice !!

Rolling around in 5th or 7th does bugger all for helping them build a championship bike ( Reg. makes the most idiotic links at times
<
). How do they know they have made a fast bike? when they suspect they have ....... they are still in the same boat as the guy running at the limit of the bike .......... so they are just wasting time.

Honda knew this , thats why they courted Stoner. They suspected they had a good bike but none of their riders was capable of getting it to the limit.

Ducati had the rider who could find the limit, they just didn't know how to keep iit under him.

How anyone can say "they are building a championship winning bike" by running around 3 seconds off pace is beyond me .........
<

When will we see this championship winning bike? I suspect only when it wins championships ........ how many champions have got there running around in 5th or 7th before? ............

As of the article in April/May AMCN, the problem......this is Burgess talking...........is that there is not enough sideways flex in the frame. This is the frame the current bike has, bugger all can be done with it, and as there is a new capacity spec coming in next year, there is very little point in designing a new 800cc machine half way through this season.

Also the crankshaft mass has adverse effects on this as well...........

So this year, they are concentrating on developing next years bike............and seeing if they can gather any sort of relevant data from the current pile of crap.

Stoner had them chasing front forks...........which wile it made it "rideable" (for someone of Stoners ability.......and that is not sarcasm), it was not the source of the problem.

Hence why the Duck would seem okay from time to time,.....but a basket case elsewhere.

Wonder how good Honda's 990 will be........or Yamaha's ?

Unlike every other manufacturer he's ridden for, maybe Duck are just waiting a year before they "Gift" Rossi another bike he can win on.

.....that last bit was sarcasm

It's because this time they don't have a way to defend him and Hayden pretty much put it all out there and said the guy goes looking for .... where none exist.

When did they know this, after 80 seconds was up, or after 5 months when reality smacked them square in the nose. They know now that this year will be tough, but they had all intentions of competing for the 2011 title back in November.

Nick excused Casey's comments as part of his preparation. Hayden said something about Stoner needing to have these little personal spats in order to keep himself on a knife's edge. I tend to agree with Nick even though it runs counter to the paddock scuttlebutt about Stoner being a calmer rider than in previous seasons. Imo, Casey is calm when he wins, and since he has won four times this season, he has been quite calm. When victory is uncertain, he is quick to unleash vitriol and punches.

Stoner's remarks don't really change my opinion of him. His appeal is his riding, and to a lesser extent, his willingness to trade punches with whiny Marlboro executives.

This is why Hayden and Stoner ultimately get on. Hayden knows how it gets at the top and he seems pretty good at empathy. This whole thing was probably over after a few minutes.

Bit of molehill being built for some readership, especially when they seem highly "prompted" questions.

You have too have a thick skin if you are at Hayden and Stoners level ( and you have beaten Rossi ), Stoner sure has and I'm pretty sure Nicky does too

Which is exactly why Ducati are in their current state of poo, Randy said that Sunday was the worst race of his life! He

thought was going to crash 3 times a lap!

Stoner's ride for the win or bin, lulled Duc into a false sense of security as we all know. Going for the win on the current Duck

takes a lot of talent, which Stoner showed, I have no doubt that

Rossi could do the same, however the smart rider knows where

the limit is and how to reach it consistently without crashing,

developing a bike so that it can get here and be competitive is

the key, not one off wins-closely followed by a crash. This

maybe gets you to 4th.....

Nicky is one of the nicest guys in the paddock, and once again a simple conversation afterwards would have been the more

mature thing to do-as I've mentioned before several times

already this year-so far this season Stoner has had serious

issue with Hayden, Loris, Randy, Hector, Rossi and Aoyama....

Stoners current extremely arrogant attitude towards the majority of the field is utterly nauseating to witness, he is setting himself

up for a big fall, hopefully the gods of racing will once again

punish him soon.......I've spoken to a lot of Aussie race fans recently and all of them are in agreement that they would love to support Casey as his talent is incredible, however he makes it impossible to do so by being the biggest .... in the sport.

All the previous 5 replies are very, very true.

............. I still hate the moaning though.

......not just Stoner..........bloody Lorenzo when he gets going !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............Simo may be dangerous.......but the .... Hee-Haw used as an example was absolutley laughable.

If you ride into someones leg.......how is that their fault?

Pedrobot............

c'mon........toughen up...........if you have a problem...........punch it out in private later ( let us read about it, but leave some mystery...makes it more tantalising !!)..........don't carry on like a 5 year old

" Waaaaaaaaa.........mum !!!!...........he hit me....took my toy" ect

As Doohan said of Biaggi..........

Maybe they should all get Kleenex on board as a sponsor.

Would that also be the same boat that Casey was in after he won his championship, the boat to no championships. Casey rode the piss out of it and he is the winningest rider in the 800 era but where are his championships. This is Ducati's fault, not Casey's or Rossi's. Casey is in a better place now and rightfully so, I'm not a big fan but he is amazing and earned his ride onto the top bike, he deserves this like no other, the top guy should be on the top bike. To say that Casey is the only one who can bring the Honda to it's limit is an insult to Pedro who is also lightning fast but can't finish a season because he seems to be made of glass.

BANG !!!!!!!!........right on the head of the nail !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good work Hawk !!!

and to finish off with,

..............." Blidingly fast, made of Glass"

You are both a Scholar and a Poet sir !!!

I do not know this. Please explain.

yeah right. all aussies i know support Stoner.

I agree Pedro is a fast rider and I am a great fan but he has just not got that extra "X" to win a WC. It may well be an insult, but I will say it.

And Honda hired Stoner which could be seen as a gross insult to Pedro ......... they could go on forever not insulting Pedro ....... but where would they be ?

Pedro hasn't been able to deliver a full season yet due to all his injuries, he had to of known they were eventually going to go out and get some insurance. They just happened to get the world's greatest policy. As much as I don't like Casey for being a ...... I'm happy he's on a damn good bike, he deserves it, but it doesn't mean I have to like the little turd. I hope you Stoner fans enjoy your time as I think he'll be the first to get some back to back championships in a while, I've had my share of fun watching Mladin and Hayden.

What a stoopid beat up over sweet .... all - most of you crap on about Aliens and others to tuffen up and get on with it on and off the track but most of you do the same here via your posts whinning and bitching this or that.....heck its the net and the keyboard is your armour.

So the little fella had an opportunity to have a dig about KK-the Duc and VR - this would have been expected sooner or later this season DOH
<
and so would any other ex rider when in their new team and on a good thing.

As for Talpa - biggest .... in sport quote - how do you know ? more like your eating it eh and it doesn't taste good
