Sponsor Shakeup

According to Kropotkin, there could potentially be a major shakeup in title sponsors for 2010 and beyond. Mainly, Red Bull could potentially replace Repsol as the title sponsor of the factory squad with Repsol's impatience with Honda to field a Spanish world champion. If the rumors are true, Red Bull would become the title sponsor for Honda in 2010, keeping Pedrosa and Dovizioso as they are both Red Bull backed to begin with. Another benefit for Honda in this scenario is Red Bull's global appeal, addressing some of the rumors that Repsol would prefer a Spanish world champion. Should it occur, Repsol would move to Yamaha for 2010 replacing Petronas as secondary sponsor and becoming title sponsor when the Fiat deal ends at the end of the 2010 season.

Kropotkin: Red Bull Honda, Repsol Yamaha?

idk...seems possible i guess....i cant see pedrosa winning a championship...but lorenzo definitely has a shot in the next couple of seasons if not this one (hopefully not) ....but to see a repsol yamaha would be weird.

i wonder how rossi would feel about that. maybe he would take that opportunity and move to the DUC.

If this is true, than I guess the real winner is Yamaha. Just hope Lorenzo dosen't turn into another Biaggi from the added pressure.

It would also be nice to see Vale in Repsol colors again.

I'm not so sure about that Roger. There are rumblings that Rossi is keen to stay on past 2010. Can't recall where I read it, probably Kropotkin.

Nothing will every compete for ugly/tacky compared to the Pepsi Suzuki.
That was so friggin' hideous. Although somehow I could see
Pedrosa being sponsored by Twinkies.

don't wanna poo poo the whole repsol to yamaha thing, but when petronas signed up with yamaha, wasn't there a big article on motogp.com stating how the two companies do alot of business together. don't think yamaha signing up repsol would be too popular, if this is the case.

Oh no, not suggesting that a deal is in place. I've just read that there are rumors he wants to continue on after 2010.

Repsol has some serious commitment to Moto gp any american company that was dumping money into a road racing team and wasnt seeing results would cut all funding after 1 season 2 at most. Repsol yamaha sounds funny after so many years with honda. Red Bull has so much money they could easily step up for Honda. either way a red bull title sponsor only benefits Moto gp everyone knows we could use some more teams out on the grid
