Spies to Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP in 2010..?

First. I will be happy to see Spies make the jump..
His success will depend on the equipment and his setup skills. I am extremely cautious about his success and podiums next year.

I say this as the time gaps in WSBK are much larger than Motogp. A few years ago we were commenting on .5 of a second covering the top 10 riders. The 800cc error has magnified the importance of everything must be perfect. I believe this is the shortcomings of many of the Superbike guys. I think Hayden in the last race or two had pace equal to greater than Rossi/Lorenzo in T1, T2 but loses major time (.1) in either T3/T4 ..

Two tenths a lap for 25-28 laps.. you are 3 second behind.

I hope Spies gets it right. I speculate he has the talent. I wonder sometime if its just the 250 high corner speed style that suits Motogp. Superbike guys have heavier bikes/Horsepower.

I'm gonna bet that Spies will go to motogp if he wins the WSBK championship this year. Also worth mentioning, he can team up with anyone, he doesn't care if he's number 2 on the team. That's his style, in AMA, mladin was #1 on the team and he came in and spanked him. WSBK, he was the underdog and shocked the world. Not forgetting that he has never been to 85% of the tracks. Everyone had an edge and he spanked them. Spies loves to be at a disadvantage. I suspect he would be a title contender once he's on full factory support.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Austin @ Sep 18 2009, 02:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Although Rossi wouldn't be challenged by Pedrosa, I don't think he'd like to be teammates with him. Pedrosa and Puig don't do teams any favors. It seems to me that Rossi would team with anyone who doesn't bother him in his development work, I don't think Pedrosa and Puig fit that description. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to team with Dovi, Melandri or Hayden. And Spies likely the same, at least for the first year or until he starts competing for wins and asks for more developmental duties.

I disagree. If there's anyone in the paddock who can make Puig shut up or who can make Dani see the light, it's Vale.

Toseland to partner Crutchlow at Yamaha?

It is expected that James Toseland will do a straight swap with Ben Spies and return to the World Superbike Champion with Yamaha to team up with current World Supersport series leader Cal Crutchlow.

Toseland, who is a double WSB Champion, has underperformed in his second year in MotoGP but would be a strong contender for the 2010 World Superbike title.

And if Crutchlow is on the factory bike next year, he will need a calming and experienced team-mate as the former British Supersport Champion can be erratic and headstrong, as his crash at Imola yesterday three laps from the end of the race shows.

thats from the mirror wonder if they got the WORD from the BSB Paddock they have the Mirror cup in the BSB SERIES
