<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Connecting the dots and examining in depth the move from Suzuki to Kawasaki; it revealed a guy who had had enough giving his youth stuck in a chronic sub-par machine, and took a gamble somewhere else. That somewhere else promised the world as well as a big paycheck--somehow you have been stuck on the paycheck part, only. Had he not moved, we might be saying, ...., the guy had an opportunity to move on, but coward out and stayed within his comfort zone; something he clearly did NOT do. If you can show me he had been offered a factory ride with Honda or Yamaha at the time, then I might be more inclined to accept he went Green for the Green. But of what was on the table, staying with Suzuki would have been insane.
Based on championship points, then yes, he would have been the most deserving rider Kawasaki could find. Although looking at guys who changed seats for this season like Capirossi and Edwards, I would think that their development skills, experience and consistency would be more valuable than Hopkins but that's my opinion and it's pretty obvious that my views weren't the same as Kawasaki's for whatever reason.
Also, I don't have any proof but I do recall Hopkins being linked to Ducati in both 2004 and 2006 and him turning them down to stay with Suzuki. His argument was he would be devastated if he left Suzuki and the benefits of all his hard work would be reaped by someone else. That's my main bit in the Hopkins/sell out debate but that's a slightly different topic.

MIC ( Motorcycle Industry Council ) is starting they're own show...and guess what...ALL the manufactures are jumping ship to the newly formed USSB series (United States Super Bike).

Spies will get a ride in GP...
I thought I read that USSB were going to stick with 2008 spec AMA rules and 'eventually' switch to SBK regulations. Spies will take the money from whatever manufacturer remains in DMG and get paid and be the new Mat Mladin. Shame, at least Mladin gave GPs a shot. Even if he didn't get a fair go at it.
