<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>The 2009 destination of AMA Superbike champion Ben Spies 'should' be announced at the inaugural Indianapolis Grand Prix from September 12-14.
Indy will mark the Texan's third and final MotoGP appearance of the season for Rizla Suzuki, having finished 14th during a last minute stand-in ride at Donington Park and then eighth as a wild-card at his home Laguna Seca event in late July.
"I'm looking forward to going back to Indy and being part of history," said Spies, who - unlike the regular MotoGP riders - was able to test at the new Indy MotoGP circuit in July. "Some great things are coming together for next season and that's got me excited as well."

Spies has made his intentions to secure a full time 2009 grand prix ride clear and has been linked with (amongst others) Rizla Suzuki, Gresini Honda, Alice Ducati and JiR Honda in MotoGP - plus Ducati Xerox and Alstare Suzuki in WSBK.
Despite insisting that it is close to new deals with both Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen, neither have yet been announced as remaining with Suzuki for 2009 - leaving the door open for Spies - although the most recent rumours suggest that a satellite Honda seat is more likely.
"We are still in negotiations with numerous teams," Doug Gonda, Spies' manager, told Crash.net. "We should be able to announce a deal at Indy."
After Indy, Spies only needs to finish 19th or better in the AMA season finale at Laguna Seca on September 28 to clinch his third straight AMA Superbike title for Yoshimura Suzuki.
We all know that his goal is to be on a MotoGP bike in 2009, so for him to say that exciting things are shaping up, I can only imagine that he's got a GP ride in the works.
What do you guys think...will Suzuki add him as one of the two factory riders? Will they run a third bike? If so, will Spies be on it? is he headed to Gresini?
I can't wait to hear his announcement at Indy, and even more than that I can't wait to see him ride there! I think he's gonna tear up, as he is one of the only people who has ever ridden the circuit, and on a GP bike no less.
