Something tells me the

will be burning strong all year.  Rossi, despite his recent 'oath' of silence, can be expected to periodically pour mass quantities of liquid oxygen and gasoline on the conflagration throughout the season.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Kropotkin @ Mar 17 2010, 02:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Translation: "Sorry Italy, but I'm sticking with Yamaha."

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>The reigning champion has openly admitted he would consider leaving Yamaha at the end of his current contract this year as he does not believe the team can continue running two equal number riders with him and Jorge Lorenzo. Rossi has identified Ducati as his most likely destination if he moves.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"In order to change you must think you are going to a place where you feel better, and for me it's difficult to think of a place where I can feel better than at Yamaha," Rossi told Motosprint.

Well, they already got rid of a principal that we knew didn't particularly like you Rossi, what more do you want from Ducati? Perhaps to get rid of Stoner? Well...

Actually: "Sorry Italy. I'll make sure Yamaha get rid of Lorenzo and stay where I am." Rossi is not going to Ducati. Period.

Agree, and have agreed with that sentiment since he started alluding to Ducati. For me, its about a better more favorable contract. (However, if Ducati proves refinement, and Hayden is competitive, then all bets are off.)

What fantastic praise for Jorge. And as I have argued in the past many times this now confirms who is rossi's real opponent at present

Praise is praise mate, coming from the goat I'm sure any rider would be happy to hear these comments, and the fact that vr wants jl remove from Yamaha is surely the best praise possible........

He was praising Stoner as well - just saying that the two are both talented - in different
ways.

Agree, im just bustin balls dude. And as Kesh said, he was also giving props to Stoner. These three guys hav given us the best thrills in recent years. I just hope we hav another Catalunya or Laguna somewhere this year. Ive seen the last lap of Catalunya so much that its ingraved in my memory, truly beautiful. I think id die if we ever say a Stoner/ Hayden battle like we saw Yamaha teammates battle. Shame ther has to be one winner because they wer both warriors. But to the winner go the spoils, and thats life. .... im getting worked up, bring on the season!

Is this the same Rossi who promised not to speculate any more this year about the impending silly season? This is twice now. Perpetual spin or lack of self control??
