I dont think the Honda is really that bad. Histoey tells us that plenty guys who didnt have the "best" bike out there have won the championship. And not just in GP. The great riders ride around the problems, and win in spite of these things. The Honda isnt the best out there, but, racing is about who can get the bike set up best, and how they overcome problems.

Pedrosa is getting the best from the Honda, and lets be honest, what works for a wee guy like him, isnt going to work for Hayden or others. Maybe I'm cynical, but HRC havent built a pup in a long time, so I think that once the other guys get it working for them, we should see more Hondas at the front.

Personally, I think a lot of the problems are down to riders not getting a handle on the bike quick enough. As Sheene once said of another rider "He couldnt develop a cold, never mind a motorcycle."

I dont see the Honda guys having a regular GP winner (historically) between them, I don't think that helps.

Yeah, i mean i think the bike is pretty poor compared to the others, but being motogp the percentages are tiny. It can go round properley, i just think it makes the riders life harder and mroe risky than the other bikes do. Obviously the rider makes the difference ultimately, which shows in pedrosas pace this year compared to other honda riders.

Agree, if NONE of the Hondas were doing anything, then I would be worried for them, but Pedrosas results certainly dont point to it being a dog. It's the first time in long time that they have rolled out a new race bike without having a regular race winner on board, and I think that shows.

Honda being Honda, they are not going to put out another pup like the old NR race bike. Look what they did to prove it really DID work with the road going 750!

The bottom line is, its an HRC built race bike, not a Roberts or Ilmor.

Its still making life hard for most or all of its riders and i think it is causing trouble for HRC. But in the long run i think normal service will be resumed and like we have said, Pedrosa is down right good enough to ride through the problems.

excellent points. i do believe that it'll be up to pedrosa if honda are to forge ahead. i think that all the attention is defo gonna start headin his way. shame he got knocked off.

I spoke with Earl Hayden at length yesterday at Barber Motorsports Park.He was there watching Roger Lee and Tommy in the AMA events.Bike and rider are headed to the wind tunnel this week to try and figure a way to get all riders except Pedro behind the fairings without compromising aero.He said without a doubt Pedro's tiny stature is working to his advantage on 3 fronts,Aero , front end performance and and acceleration, figures his 40 pound advantage is like having 5-6 extra hp. And for the doubters,he said the parts being tested last year during the heat of a championship battle were for the 800.So yes,Honda was using Hayden as a lab rat to develope a bike that way more suits his teammate than him.

why are we saying pedrosa is so good on the bike bla bla bla
not saying he is not, because he is doing a great job but what about.....

ELIAS! another 250 rider who is doing magnificent on the bike!
lets not forget about him shall we?

Indeed, he is doing a good job too. I am inclined to believe that the Bridgestones are helping him out a fair bit.

They sure are, but look at who his teammate is and on paper he should be doing just as good or better. Melandri was a championship runner-up and a magnificent rider.

Compare the teammates and its just like "Wow!" Also, we were talking about Honda and their problems bla bla.

Elias seems to be riding around them.
The 'Stones may help, but Pedrosa has the might if Michelin and HRC behind him while Elias is clearly a satellite rider, and the 2nd in line in that team as well.
The Honda is clearly a bike that a 250 rider can ride well, look at the riders doing decent/well on it.

Lets see how he fares for the rest of the season, but great form from him so far.
