We keep talking about rider size, Pedroccio, Dwarfs etc.

Sete is looking a little heavy on the bike. I don't think that he would suit any other bike besides the ducati. It may be able to haul is big gutt around the track.. Take a look

No more Paella for you Sete!!

The angle may be deceiving. Maybe he was inhaling/exhaling, depending on which one makes you look fatter. Maybe he farted. Maybe he had a leathers-and-seat-sucking-anus-clenching moment.

He's never going to be tiny. 2006 profile.

Prior to the test, he stated "I'm honoured by this possibility that Ducati has given me. I'm very excited and I'm in perfect shape, even if it has been a while since I have been on a GP bike. It is just a test but I'll give my absolute maximum. I can't wait to enjoy once again the feeling of bringing a MotoGP machine to its limit."

Even keeping in mind that he really wants the job and may have exaggerated, I thought he looked OK in Catalunya.

Roger - As in RogerLee?
I don't see Sete as being 154lbs. But all shots did not show the gut area.....
I posted it for fun and jest. I dont think Sete is really out of shape at least I hope not.
Sete and Casey going fast would be a nice 1-2 for Team Ducati...

We will see if he can get on with the small beast. (Anyone got a link on spy testing at Mugello?

No, the other white meat. (roger-m)

He's never been a real skinny guy.....I met him once in NYC, he was with his now ex girlfriend...that model ...........

sir or my lord will be fine peasant.

i think they should have bike/rider weight rules. at this rate will will end up with midgets racing because there light. made the small gays carry ballast.

Yeah Sete, just what we need, another guy who Rossi can beat just by looking at him. Mind you, if Rossi says he'll never eat another pie, the weight will fall off him.

the 990 torque would have had no prob hauling his fat ... around

Anyhow...look out...here comes Gibbers!
Gibbers completed test:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>His fastest lap, set on a race tyres, was a 1:50.5 on board the GP8, just four tenths off this year's race record, set by Casey Stoner.

I would be very careful where I walked at night leading up to the next 2 races if I were marco, and particularly look for inadvertent oil spills in the ducati garage

.

Not much was made of stoner's fastest lap in this race at the time; vale looked to have him covered easily watching the race. Presumably ducati improved things further with the catalunya test, but maybe casey just did not have the confidence to push an already improved bike flat out the whole way.

Anyway, extremely impressive by gibernau after 18 months away.

looking at gibbers times i would agree but haven't ducati told marco he has to ride the next couple of races due to his contract. maybe gibber's being so fast may change there minds and let him go early.

I may be wrong, but I thought bikergirl was implying melandri gets more money if he completes these 2 races and hence might be more amenable to seeking greener pastures after this, whilst suppo might have preferred to replace him sooner. Hopefully she may translate the linked article if she has time; showing her baby some of the motogp races this year might improve her sleeping pattern.

ah, i see. you may be right mike. maybe i misunderstood.

Where would one sign up for said program? I'm very interested.

ya gotta give it to Sete though for not being on a bike for 18 months and getting up to speed pretty quick. Friggin Marco and the rest of the backmarker bunch should take a play from Sete's book and get the lead out!

MotoGP used to be the best riders in the world competing against each other on a wild beast of a bike, now it seems everyone wants to see anorexic dwarves with no personality pointing the bike in the right direction and letting electronics do the rest. when did this happen? i seem to have missed the transition

I agree also. I like sete, think he is a very good rider, I am sure would help develop the bike and is a good short term option for ducati if he still has or can re-develop the stamina to go race distance.

But as you say, he is proveably no rossi beater even with arguably superior equipment in the past. Whatever else anyone thinks or says about stoner, I think there is general agreement here and everywhere that he doesn't scare easily. Even with a crucial bike advantage such as casey arguably had at catalunya last year, I don't think sete would cope as well with the sustained pressure that an even close to equal rossi/yamaha package could bring to bear in a race like catalunya 2007.
