Why Stoner isn't racing any more. His quotes from today:
Is there any point you think I'd like to have a go again? Why are you happy just testing?
My role is completely changed now. Like I said, I'm not looking for those fine little details that are out there and comparing things. I suppose, I'm not an engineer, but I'm taking the role of an engineer as a test rider, because a lot test riders have careers where they want to achieve things and move forward, but I'm interested in each step, what it does, why it does it. I really want to see this go further forward and take it to another level. So I'm going to start learning all I can from these guys to get a better understanding, because there's a lot of complicated systems.
You might be an engineer soon?
Probably not a full time engineer, but if I wasn't going to race years ago, something that I wanted to do is get an engineering degree. So it would be nice to learn a lot more from these guys.
Somewhere in the distant future, December 2016....
Q: Casey what made you decide to race again after denying you would ever do it again?
Well erm, you see I kept developing the bike to better improve the systems to get it on the same level as the Yamaha and Honda. The results were just not reflecting this. I told Gigi in September that I wanted to Wild Card at Phillip Island to see what the GP16 would do in race conditions, and as you guys know, the results speak for themselves. Now, I need to see if the bike is at a level where it can actually compete for the entire season.
maybe if you jerk your .... long enough, a genie will come out & you can wish for this to happen.
If you touch it, it will come.
GP lost its greatest talent on account of Rossi-centric ........ Dorna politics. Lets never lose sight of this fact. Why Stoner isn't racing any more. His quotes from today:

Me, I never thought we'd see Casey back on track, this testing roll for a brief moment made me rethink the possibility. The other fact I must reconcile is Stoner requested a wildcard and again ........ politics prevented it, not only denying Casey but all of us the thrill of seeing the man in a race last year. I can't help but believe Casey Stoner when he says he is not interested in making a comeback.
The rumors of his retirement which had emerged had irritated the reigning World Champion, and he had a few sharp comments for the media who made them. Asked by one journalist what he meant when he said he intended to continue racing for a few more years, Stoner retorted "I was basically saying, don't listen to what you read in the press. Don't read what you produce."
Either way, he got Rossi to panic in testing.
That alone was worth it. lol
Reality:
Rossi & Team: We need to gather more data on how the bike reacts in the braking zones. Lets run 5 laps and come back for a debrief, then we'll go run 5 harder laps to test the limit.
Let me guess, you read Rossi's usual passive-aggressive statements that were intended to imply that JL does no work?
I'd probably say the same thing as a way to engage in damage control when it looks like the last 1/4 of 2015 where Rossi was hopelessly unable to maintain pace with Lorenzo when it counted.

JPS & Jums:
OMG! Rossi is heading out on track because Stoner went out. He's freaking out man! Full on panic mode. He went back to the pits and screamed at his team to adjust his brakes then went back out and dropped his lap times to make sure he was quicker than Stoner. Pretty sure he was crying under his helmet. Stoner is in his head, he can't think about anything else.
Remind me...what year was it during the same pre-season test that Max topped the time sheet late in the day. Y'know, the time that Rossi immediately ordered his crew who were in the process of packing up back into the garage to get his bike back out on track? What's that? you weren't watching then? Ah well.
Fair play to him, he went out and blew Max's time into the weeds with under a minute remaining of the session.
Sure, I read his comments. I wouldn't consider the Sepang test a place where maintaining pace with Lorenzo counts for anything (but IMO Rossi is paying far more attention to Lorenzo than Stoner). Especially considering the track is now getting repaved. Both riders put in a lot of work and are looking strong.
Rossi cares very much as Arrab pointed out.
Anyone who he personally considers a threat, he will be in competition with them no matter of it is testing or the race.
Stoner is NOT currently any threat to anyone except maybe Dovi. Rossi is concerned with Lorenzo, Marquez, Pedrosa, and Iannone.
