No, a real screamer would sound like this:

I don't know the details of Ducati's crank timing, but it sounds like they've got pairs of pistons firing nearly simultaneously. The Honda fring order has more stagger, but is nowhere near a 180-180-180-180 screamer.

The kwak was by far my favourite sounding bike when it was around a few years back....it was like a banshee on acid.

2011 800cc times for comparison.

Only 0.3 seconds off pedrosa though. Very promising I would have thought unless honda are not showing their hand, not previously stoner's wont at least.

There is no way valentino's talent suddenly evaporated in the 2 days after the valencia 2010 race. What last year proved is that the ducati 800 was a very unusual bike, and I think it was anomalous that stoner did relatively well on it rather than so much reflecting badly on the other ducati riders. It was definitely not fixable in 80 seconds or a much larger number of seconds though without a major re-design, which (if I say so myself
<
) is what I was saying this time last year.

If they now have a more conventional bike which fundamentally works I wouldn't necessarily be seeing too much in the way of limitation in the upside, particularly if ducati have done the change (whether or not barry machine inspired) in engine orientation. Rossi and jb are provably good at tweaking aluminium twin spar chassis.

Still slow times overall thus far though.

If the new bikes are going to surpass the 800's, they have a way to go, can Ducati follow as the times start dropping drastically. Stoner is 1.3 seconds away from last years fastest test time, that puts Ducati 2.3 sends away. Big difference

"Who let down my tires?"

"Not me."

Casey talks to Loris about ???????????? Repsol Honda Team@HRC_MotoGP

Loris "Look, eh...for sure there is a facking book of jokes here much funnier than that ambition and talent ..... that Paul Hogan gives you. For god sake Casey, if you ever want to be more popular than a penguin in powerslide, you need a new script writer. Even the Barry guy that taught you to skid would be an improvement"

Casey "looks like this book outwieghs my sense of humour!"

Loris "lost facking cause.......eh....for sure......I geeve up."

Casey "Come back Loris Ive learned 3 chords on guitar!"

Noise of garage door slamming

I'll play:

Loris " I am telling you Casey, it says right in the rule book that you cannot have pockets in your leathers."

Casey Awsome Speed King Stoner, "Well then where are me supposed to put me candy? .... this I am not doing any laps without me candy!"

Barbera got a Rossi tow for his fast lap per Krop.

Ah, normal programing has resumed for Barbera. Actually, two things, first and foremost, Ducati making an entirely new machine in such a short timeframe is not less than amazing. Second, they are certainly, as far as lap times relevant to others and their own 'old' bike, not in good shape. Third, given that the bike is a more conventional solution, all the new evolutions may have a more predictable and improved effect, something that despite throwing everything at last year's bike did not result.

It good to have bikes on the track. I'm still starving for video, but at least I'm reading about the rubber meeting the road. A few other points, I've noticed the neo-boppers already covering their bases with the new Bridgestone tires. Looks like Loris was hired to sabotage Casey, right neo-boppers?

The CRTs have a long road ahead of them. The unrealistic expectation by the doomsday naysayers empty-threat boycotters and those resistant to change will have to wait a bit more until the development produces a better machine, les they forget, it was built from scratch. It matters not though, its not like any were willing to put their money where their mouth is.

Is that your way of saying these things suck much worse than you were led to believe they would.

Me too

Loris " Casey, looking fwd to being a dad?."

Casey Awsome Speed King Stoner, "Sure a...."

Loris " I'm going to cut to thee chase Casey, there is 1 thing that annoys me and its not your incessant whining, goofy teeth or even your ability to make me and my good friend Vale look normal, its your fans, infact 1 in particular..."

Casey " Let me guess, the chimpenguinzee? We had leave Oz coz of that twerp, he was stalking me day in day out, i thought it was me Sheila he was after but it wasnt. Needless to say he wont find me in the alps"

Loris " Phew, thanka fucka for thata!"

Kabooom!

Jumkie, i dont think the times of the Duc are that bad. Vale has said he'll push for a time tmrw so we'll have a better idea then...

They do suck in terms of lap times, so this should embolden you about agreeing to my bet. Ready to put your money where you mouth is?

The CRTs are built from scratch, ridden by sub par riders, bar Edwards, and they are making some progress. We basically had two tiers last year in MotoGP, Japanese bikes and Ducatis. This year we added a third tier. But make no mistake, they will progress. The factories still have the best riders in the world. But eventually the CRTs will become the 2nd tier that has always existed in GP.

Perhaps. The good news is, that its a more conventional bike, and the adjustments should be similar if not identical to the ones they used every year except for 2011.

Jumkie- Are you referring to Soup with your CRT comments?

I read their article yes. I'm not worried about the CRTs of Randy, Colin, and even Espargaro. It seems their biggest problem are with the electronics. I'm not sure if you follow Wsbk, but one of the most powerful machines are Bmw, yet they struggle to produce top results despite having arguably one of the best riders in the series. Why? Well they have sited electronics. I think the machine, in its conventional essence is there, but once they sort the most difficult part being the electronics, then we will have them nibbling at the satellites. Btw, the CRT naysayers focused on the bike, but if you notice, they are now turning to the riders to pad their arguments. The CRT machine however will be in the 2nd tier of machines soon enough.
