Spies to suffer another technical screw up!

Seriously, would you want this dude wrenching on your bike?

No, he's not a drooling ....., but neither does he strike me as possessing the Spock-like mind required to do the job exceptionally well.

wtf

Saw this on twiiter, tweeted by the BBC's Matthew Roberts "brave effort from Yonny Hernandes to ride 5 days since dislocating collarbone - been hobbling round hotel all week on crutches with arm in a sling"

Honestly, how is he going to cope with the bike like that? Surely that can't be a good idea can it? How is it even allowed for his own safety? I mean I know others have ridden with injuries before but that seems a little extreme to me.

All good questions. When a rider is injured they have to pass a medical exam and be cleared fit to race. Not just for his safety, but for the safety of his fellow competitors on the track. For this reason the medical team subjects the rider to some tests, for example, when Crutchlow broke his ankle, they made him hop around on it to see if it could withstand the forces that he might experience on the bike.

Speaking of injuries, a couple of years ago Rossi mysteriously injured his shoulder. He reminded us it was injured every opportunity he had to speak, which seemed like it was constantly. He led us to believe that when the shoulder finally came good, his performance would improve on the Ducati. Well after what seemed like over half the season, his shoulder finally healed, however, his performance has remained the same. Contrast this with some riders that have injuries but almost never mention them. Like for example his teammate who broke his hand twice in the last few weeks and is riding faster at this event. Expect Rossi to use his teammates settings....again.

Btw, bring back Paris Hilton to restore order to Moto3!

9am is too early for bitter cookies. But you do have a point.

Spies will take Lorenzo out in turn one. Due to swingarm falling off.

Pedro

Stoner

Bradyl

Stoner will win this one as I expect a wet race.

1 Stoner

2 Bradl

3 Spies

Lorenzo & Pedrosa... one of them will leave Sepang with a DNF or outside the top 5.

Dry,

1. Pedro

2. Stoner

3. Lorenzo.

Wet,

1. Pedro

2. Stoner

3. Lorenzo.

Post apocalyptic nuclear armageddon

1. Pedro

2. Stoner

3. Lorenzo.

Even if the race doesn't run

1. Pedro

2. Stoner

3. Lorenzo.

On the moon

1. Pedro

2. Stoner

3. Lorenzo.

Stick to script monkey boy dreamers!

Edit if spies does race on the moon, he will hit a moon rock (they just call them "rocks" up there) and be thrown clear of the moon gravitational pull. He will plummet back to earth, thankful for his nomex underwear and the ability to slow his metabolism to that of a hibernating red eared slider turtle and thus survive without oxygen.

It makes him talk funny though.

He will re enter earth's atmosphere, break all of ..... germans (Austrian - whatever) Felix Bonegardner's records only to discover motogp official timekeeping equipment has failed and that the loose motorcycle swingarm that dislodged in the "rock" incident and found itself lodged in his rectum would disqualify him in any case.

Yamaha express concerned trepidation as to his ability to go fast with their equipment and have it counted. It is a major factor in contract renegotiations.

Again, thanks for the explanation

Once again I will reference F1, I know the drivers have to pass a medical check and prove they can get out of the car within a certain amount of seconds before they're allowed to drive. But those bikes are really heavy and with a broken collarbone? I still can't see how that is safe,. Whatever tests they do can't compare to what a full race will take out of you can it? Oh and I did know earlier this year at Silverstone Cal Crutchlow broke his ankle and still rode, it was on my local news
<
But a man who is using crutches and has an arm in a sling sounds so much worse to me.

Rossi sometimes uses Haydens settings eh? So a several time world champion taking his team mates settings when he can get his own right, never heard of that before, unless you count when Schumacher used to do that to Barrichello

Man these sports are so much more similar than I first realised!

Did the sound cut out for anyone else using motogp.com ???

In FP3 the announcers were saying how Ben Spies bike doesnt even have anywhere near the level of upgrades Lorenzos has. So he's basically running a bike that is actually a lot slower than lorenzos, and probably just on par with the tech 3, if not BELOW the tech 3 bikes.

Thanks for mentioning this, yeah, I heard it too. I had the thought today that Spies would have had a better season on the Tech3.

Heard this

Also heard the commentators say that in FP3 Spies was telling his crew what to change on the bike, instead of just telling them whats happening when he's riding and then his crew making the changes.

At least he's got a Ducati to look forward to next season

Quali

Lorenzo

Pedrosa

Dovisioso

Stoner

Crutchlow

Spies

Barbera

Bradl

Hayden

Bautista

Rossi

Rossi just a ahead of the first CRT. hahaha. VR once again beat once again beat by brokeback (quite literally) Barbera on a GPzero (should be called CPshitzo) and his broke one-hand teammate. Time to snatch Nicky's settings....again. Ah, its so nice of them to promote the 11th place qualifier into one of only two places set aside for the title challengers.

Barbera is hilarious. I think he gets tows now just to annoy people, especially Lorenzo. Commentator says as Hector lines up behind JLo on the final practice starts, "You don't have to line up behind Lorenzo anymore." I started laughing as Hector follows Jorge into the pit, hahaha.

Lorenzo is a machine. Nabbing that final pole position in the last lap was amazing. Casey Stoner is not happy with his bike, something is not right. He kept taking one lap and then coming in for adjustments and that pretty much was the whole session. Reports are the track was ......, lots of bumps. Randy DePuniet mentioned the track has gone to .... in the last few months. Even still, JLo was able to beat the previous pole record.

I drove to work once with a broken toe. Nobody called me a hero.

Yeah, I much rather would have seen Cal on the factory Duc. Would have loved the sound bites from him (well, between his mobile clinica visits).
