Sebastian Porto, Respol Honda's candidate to the 250 cc world title in 2007, announced his retirement from the sport yesterday. The rider, acknowledged by Pedrosa earlier this year as his fiercest oponent during his time in the 250 cc class, explained that he didn't manage to tune to the motorbike and that he lacked the motivation of a winner after so many years competing.
Alberto Puig, his manager, declared that he understood the decision, that it was honest and that nothing could be done. Repsol will support Porto should he start projects of different nature in the sport. Repsol Honda team will decide what to do with the ride until the end of the season.
