I love motoGP, and yes I like nice helmets to. I don't have to choose between the 2... Started the topic because it was a Rossi helmet and it's a sick helmet... thought some other people might like it as well. I see some nice helmets coming through...

Another helmet I like, Scott Redding Pro:

Right bro. I am done giving you ...., we do this to everyone. We are one ...... up family. I like the rossi helmet and this one. I had a clear coat carbon fiber helmet myself once.

Shoya Tomizawas helmet was sick.

Ooh, a Guzzi is something I always wanted. I really like the angular look that most have. The engine is unique and, with a 'proper' (minimal!) pipe, they sound great.

They are an acquired taste... agricultural like a Harley, but with a much sweeter engine and they handle!
<
I recommend an 850/1000 - get any one, even the godawful California - they are identical under the skin - if you want the classic Cafe look, it is simply a matter of changing seat and tank and bars.

My Gpz turbo is coming finally coming together...

Class!

My only foray into Kwaka Turbo territory was the Z1R-TC Turbo - scared the willy offa me... they came a long way from that when they made the GPz.

That was the one to have when I was younger - Arai were all soft like an armchair, AGV was like wearing a bathing cap, Simpson was like a bucket on yer heed, real men rode Bell

Yeah, I noticed...

don't really care to be honest... no problem bro

Fat design on the Shoei helmet!!

Here is another cool helmet (Lorenzo's Moon):

That's a mans lid that!

Way too cool.

I've always fancied a Sheene rep, but I've always ridden trailies, it would look a bit ......

Mind you, if I ever buy an 1100 Katana or a GS thou for sunny days, nothing else would do.

Yea, Kesh, something nice and simple like that!

The trick is to find one!

I've poked around a number of bike shops in Tucson and Pheenix, and don't remember seeing anything like a Lawson (era) replica. Even a clean red/silver two-tone would be fine, but it seems that the two choices are bland monocolor or Michael Bay style visual diarrhea.

Yea, I know, 'Quit bitching and get back to looking!'

You rode one! COOL!!!!

As I recall, the Z1RTCs were a batch of stock Kawi bike that were modified by a 3rd party. I've never even seen one, but they are supposed to combine brutal power with late 70's suspension and frame technology into the ultimate Death Sled! WOOT!! They are now rare as hell and worth a fortune.

Even the 84 750 turbo is hardly a cornering monster. I've replaced the brick-like rear shock with something more modern, and plan to get a proper aftermarket when $ is not so tight. Have also upgraded the front springs. Will very likely buy one of the cartridge emulator kits for the front as well.

Here's a few options for ya Geo!!

Have linked your 1st post to AVG direct, rather than a private company in Holland - as Jaouad is from there, I wouldn't want people thinking there are ulterior motivates going on.

Check this out. It looks like a less flashy version of my favorite KBC (they went out of business) helmet - but by Bell. Graphics are very fighter pilot but laid-back and you can get it from Bell for around $179.00. It's the Vortex Attack model. It doesn't say stoopid 20 year old wired on Red Bull - but then it doesn't say 65 year old geezer ona Gold Wing either.
<
If I destroyed my KBC I'd buy this in a flash.

This is my favorite. Very simple but bold.

Rossi has the most creative and artistic helmets for sure. There like a tattoo. You need see them up close to appreciate them but they have no style

I wonder how the Sic lid would look if the white were painted black to match Geonerds Turbo. It might look great

Cant wait to see finished pics of the bike

Nice Michael Bay reference Geo

Yea, the basic theme, w/o the Monster logos, would look damn good in red and silver!

That said, I wouldn't feel right wearing Marco's lid.

first Shoei helmet is nice

Thanks, Mick!

The first one does look good. Unfortunately, the large black area would absorb enough heat to fry what's left of my brain in about 10 minutes.

Is your GPZ black and silver or black and red.

I don think ive ever seen a black and silver one

No, they were a stock Kawasaki item. The turbo was an off-the shelf unit and the carbs were stock, unlike the XN85 and CX500T, where the turbo. FI, etc was all 'designed' as one. The US/Canadian distributor did a similar thing with stock Z1R's, IIRC, but this one came straight out of Japan (the only place we could get bikes in the 70s in NZ). We got some other weird .... out of Japan over the years - NZ is a great place to find odd bikes.

But.. as a result, it was typical 70s turbo - laggy as .... and then it all came in at once. It wasn't the most pleasant time spent on a bike and that particular one ended up as the hood ornament on a earthmover, IIRC.

That happened in the rain on a windy road and is typical of the power delivery.

Luckily I rode it on a fine sunny day with no traffic
<
Truth to be told, my GS1000S was a better bike in every way except roll-on and top speed.

There was a guy in NZ that had a seriously modded one that raced in what we called 'Formula One' back then - Jim Steadman: http://www.flickr.co...tream/lightbox/
