Hi peteboy, greetings from Ireland.

Some good stuff here I hadn't really thought about before. Yamaha have been short sighted for sure. There's no long-term back up unless Ellison can pull a few surprises which I think is unlikely. It all plays nicely into VR's hands if he wants to stay at yamaha next year because he'll just have to name his price. If he fell into a pile of .... he'd come up smelling of roses. If he is bored, which seems realistic, I'd get bored myself, and he walks away with it again this year, he probably will go elsewhere.

Schuy's contract is up end of 2006,. go figure,. anything could happen

if someone were to dangle X Million in front of your noise what would you do,.

Even I would stoop so low as to race cars

He wont get bored. His IRTA test antics are just Rossi being rossi, sleeping in, doing what he wants, making a joke of Honda's entire effort.
Rossi won't get bored of winning GP, but he'd get bored of losing F1, and he knows that

That's what I believe he's really up to, taking the piss out of Honda, nothing strange there. As far as long term scenarios I have to admit that ooost's idea that perhaps he is bored with it all is possible as well. When is winning too easy as to be uninspiring? Who knows. For sure losing or just making up the numbers in F1 while someone else is crowned motogp champion would be far more annoying. The fun would start if say, Marco had a forty point advantage after 3 or 4 rounds

Geez.....Is it possible? To be bored of being best rider in the world?Making laugh of all HRC for couple of years now.(do not mention 'bout sete's curse - this is one of my favourite though:))Doing all those records, wins...etc,etc...?
it is easy to get confused becose of many ways you can look at the matter.Maybe it is good to figure it out in simpliest way possible?
A lot of succes.VR right now is best in the world. Many people claim that maybe even best ever.He has been greatest in all classes on two different manufacturers in Motogp. He won his own battle with HRC and some "archrivals" and "nemesis"..sete, max..And suddenly there is an opportunity to do something else..something big.It is so human to try and at least consider.Maybe he don't want to be another Schuey, who produced another wins and championships almost effortless year by year makeing F1 so borrrrrrring. It is not decided. And I hope that future will keep him at MotoGP.Maybe due to some new rivalry, maybe due to new challenges and maybe due to lack of speed in F1 car...We just have to wait and see, but discussion will go on and on of course.Let's enjoy his ride this year as much as possible..just in case if it was last time he was on two wheels.

I've made all sorta predicitons about what he'll do, but after looking at all the evidence, I gotta say, I've got no idea

I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Add into the mix that Da'man probably doesn't really know himself
<

there has been some very good points here, but again,. we'll have to suck it and see,..

I suppose Benny Boy could get a few votes going

1. hands up all who want him to stay
2 hands up who all thinks he will stay

etc

My heart says Yes to both

I've given up trying to guess what he's gonna do. It's probably easier to predict where lightning will strike

i think ur right richo.

An interview was just published at Crash.net with BBC commentator Steve Parrish. He believes Rossi need a new challenge and should leave MotoGP after 2006 and move to F1. It's all quite interesting and I can't say I disagree with him. Check out the article in it's entirety here.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Wes57 @ Feb 14 2006, 06:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>When Valentino Rossi's Yamaha contracted is up I think he should go to a lesser pwerful bike eg Suzuki then we can see how good he really is then. Dont get me wrong I know he isthe best but it would good to see if race a lover spec bike that is my opion

i agree with you ere.im a avid rossi fan and have been 4 yonks but ive also said to my chums y should rossi go 4 pole ?? y not start at the back of the grid an lets see wot happens..

gary its fun watching rossi battle from the back but not sure if he wants that all the time if riders want to beat him just beat as normal and fair, hes that gud people want him demoted.. im sure hes got a battle this year a bit..

Yeah, watching Rossi start at the rear makes for a good race. look at Valencia '05. I think the Doc's allergic to mediocrity.
