Enjoyed this video of Rossi onboard, the commentators shut up after about 30seconds and its just pure yamaha

Interesting Rossi goes from 3rd to 5th in a flash about 40seconds in, wonder if thats the norm?

Just a short shift to lessen the likelyhood of losing the back under power in the corner ... also sets him up better for the straight that follows.

Maybe all the Yamaha "nay sayers" are right then, its does sound the suckiest bike out there

Mind you I attribute a lot of that to Rossi's style ..... a higher gear and throttle open wider. maybe??

Bazza, style has nothing to do with it. Rossi likes his bike to run quiet, hence the dull note, it's becuse of the exhaust. Most guys aren't using any silencers.

I was being double economical with the word "suckiest" LOL .... his bike allways seems a lot of intake sound to me ... especially noticeable in onboard vid.s

But yeah I guess if his exhaust is more silenced that could be why I am hearing more intake.

No no no - if you want Rossi sounds, then surely you cant do much better than this....

Im not sure how old the clip is, but it sounds a lot more Honda V5 than Yamaha M1?

Every time. Every race. He's Piccolo Pedrosa to those guys. One of them is Loris Reggiani by the way!!!
And at one point towards the end you can hear him murmuring 'che spettacolo'

MotoGP bikes sound the most unexciting racing bikes on the planet, last good one was the old Ducati screamer.

I was at the Manx GP last year and remember thinking how badass the bikes from the 50's and 60's sounded compared to today, those old Benelli's, MV's and Moto Guzzi's blow your ....... ears off!

The screamer ZX-RR that Kawasaki tested (but I don't think they raced) was unbelievable.
