If Rossi is affected mentally, i believe it will be more because of the rash of injuries that he experienced after being incredibly  fortunate throughout  the first 2/3 of his career. Pile on the death of his close friend, his age { wisdom}   his financial situation, that all equates to losing just that razors edge that is the difference between favorite and contender. If HE believes his legacy has taken a hit, you might see something special, he is an egotistical ....... after all.

Knowing Rossi's willingness to do whatever it takes, to win and knowing the single-mindedness of racers in general,

coupled with the fact that Rossi despite the clowning for the camera - is a shark at heart, I don't really think the death

of Simoncelli will in any way be a factor in his ability to compete in the following season.

Yeah something like that.  Its an idiom that can mean something like bite your tongue, hold back your feelings, or dont mention your feelings, or dont waste your breath.  Hahaha funny, Im replying you with idioms myself.  Noyes speaks Spaniard Spanish which is slightly different than say Mexican Spanish.  So, Im just going by the context in which he said it.  Baturo corrected me on Noyes use of tiene la razon which literally translated means he has the reason but really does mean he is right.  I knew this, but I dislike Rossi so much that I never think hes right. ;) :p

That's what I figured, but wanted to make sure. The "tiene la razon" made sense to me since it's very similar to Italian. I figured you knew it too but like you said, you hate Rossi. But wait...I thought you just hated his bandwagon fans? Well we can talk about that when we're at the bar next time.

Uhm, when was Roberts not the hero?
I love Roberts. I just wanted to get an idea of the time frame of when this was happening.

Anyway, that depends on your definition of hero. In your eyes, was Stoner or Rossi the hero (in the context that Noyes speaks of them in todays terms)? I know your answer, hahaha.
Of course you do lol. He solidified it when he flicked Biaggi off mid corner in 2000. How couldn't I?

So, Sheene was like Rossi in the sense that he was a self-promoter, flamboyant (though decidedly not like the flamboyant gay type that is Rossi, sorry couldnt resist)
Haha thanks for the laugh

It sounds like it from his tweet.  But honestly, I dont understand how twitter works, so it looks like it was part of a conversation he was having with somebody.  Its like overhearing a phone conversation, you only know what the person you are hearing is saying.

You forgot that Sheene also had preferential treatment from his team, taking all three factory bikes from the three man team & leaving his teammates with the .... in 77.

There I fixed it.  No euphesims used here

so Rossi is playing the mind games again, after two years of not always being under the spotlight I did not miss it, rather it gave me pleasure not to hear them.  but why, I ask, is he still harping on about Laguna 08?

I find myself having to agree with Stacey's tweet, "I think Valentino feels a little more brave now that I'm not there:)".

There were many similarities and contrasts, but I think covered the main ones.  There were two points at play, one regarding the rivalry, and the implied necessity of having a "hero" and a villain, which I entertained.  Though I would rather make the case there was really no comparison, in which case I could have simply said 'Sheene was not a ...' and just assume the rest.  But I was in the entertaining mood. :)

Given it has lost people their jobs, it seems tweeting seems a little braver than tooling about a circuit in 14th..
