Rossi appeals FIM stewards decision

Are you saying that they could hold out on making a decision until after the race?

Yeah, that would put Rossi in a tough spot.

I think he has a 50/50 shot from the back. Specially if JL can't beat both Honda's. Might go up to 70/30 if JL can't beat either.

Keyword.

He further requests stay of execution of the decision in accordance with Article R37 of the Code of Sports-Related Arbitration.

He seeks a stay

He wants it all deferred as once the race is run, they can only apply a points reduction or fine, they cannot then penalise him based on the starting position (how do you determine the time penalty?)

Basically, this is Capirossi v Harada all over again but a race early

All decided in courts after the event

Rossi appealing advances the case for his delusion and furthers his shamelessness. If the FIM has any integrity they will do whatever in their power to make the penalty what it should have been: disqualification and license suspension.

Isn't this great.
Lawyers getting involved.
Please note (as some have above) that the CAS appeal isn't about whether VR was culpable, but whether the 3 point penalty harms his career/season.
A lovely bit of circular logic.
He is desperate for this title, which is understandable. But for bringing the lawyers into the sport. He can .... himself. But he knows that if #10 lands in his lap, the past will be yellow-washed.

Rossi bigger than the sport? Rossi is single handedly trying to wreck the sport with his single minded determination to win another world championship no matter what it takes.

His belief that he should be crowned the GOAT, his massive ego and his loyal sycophantic subjects will do whatever it takes and try and vilify or destroy anyone who gets in his way.

He actually reminds me of Lance Armstrong and his determination to be the best. Not by using drugs, but by every other means he can think of to get his own way. It's sad, he used to be such a likeable person, but that disappeared years ago. His ego and his yellow horde of fruitcake fans has seen to that.

You know what would be fitting?

If he crashes out in Valencia in spite of all of this.

Maybe Nicky Hayden can go out in a blaze of glory.

Kick the rear sensor off.

Dorna giving in to him over a number of things, as well as protecting him did more damage to MotoGP than can ever truly be calculated.

No. Rossi isn't as big of a .... as his fans.

Of course he is. Why you think his fans are his fans ? He attracts these kinds of ..... as fans because of his rotten character. His fans love that he kicks his opponents out of the track. His fans love that he plays mindgames to his opponents and that he tries to ridicule his opponents on podium. His fans like Rossi's ..... comments at press conferences. He is just one of them.

Its obvious whats going on here. First off, Dorna didnt want anything done to Rossi to begin with, but knew no action was not an option for the blatant actions . They colluded with RD/FIM to come up with the lightest possible punishment. Now, you have Rossi under instruction from Dorna going through this CAS to appeal. He will win appeal and this next weekend will go off as usual. Dorna and the FIM will throw up their hands in mock disbelief absolving themselves of any wrongdoing. This is why Rossi should have been punished immediately on track with a black flag. When he wasnt i saw a scenario where Rossi would get off unscathed and her it is. Disgusting

I dont quite understand why MM fans are letting MM go without fault? It is TOO clear that MM was INTENDED on slowing down or even crashing into VR. MM was BEHIND when the incident happened, MM's helmet hit VR first and both Race Direction and FIM made a too hasty decision without reviewing the tapes.

VR should have challenged the one point he got just because JL complained. Not to say JL and Yamaha will be NOWHERE if VR did not develop the bike, remember Yamaha NEVER won for YEARS before VR's first win.

Also it was always quite obvious all season long that Yamaha was sabotaging VR bike and hoping and praying that JL wins, watch Lin Jarvis at each race - his expressions says it all!

MM should be punished - banned from MotoGP. Period.
JL should be punished - sit out 6 races.

Only these 2 events will make it even with the punishment given to VR>

I have an idea Fair.

What say they ban every rider on a factory bike, or a bike with soft tyres or the additional fuel ............ afterall, you never know but one day in the future there is a possible that they may beat the chosen one.

We get it already ........... you want Rossi to win and he is untouchable, has never done a thing wrong and the world should always bow in his presence like we would to teh god almighty

Sorry mate, aint gonna happen here

Amazing powers of comprehension and reasoning.
I tips my clear placcy hat.

I've read some utter .... on here in the last decade, but even summoning the pantheon of past masters (I'm talking the likes of Pinky, Antfan, SS56) they would be beyond doubt be collectively challenged to concoct a post of such overwhelming moronic stupidity.

"Remember Yamaha NEVER won for YEARS before VR's first win." The first iteration M1 with the screamer configuration was developed by John ....... Kocinski for ..... sake. Biaggi and Checa were saddled with a complete animal. That bike was nothing short of a career wrecker. I doubt whether the Yam that Rossi emerged on 2004 had even a spacer or a fairing clip in common with the nightmare that practically broke Barros the previous year. For a start, Valentino was given four engines to choose from by Yoda who as given unlimited yen and carte-blanch to transform the new iteration of the bike for Rossi. He elected to run with a long bang configuration and I believe it wasn't long until the reverse crank was engineered to further increase traction and stability. Doubtless, the M1 that year was still giving a lot away to the RCV and I cite that as Vale's greatest championship, but the idea that this turnaround was galvanised solely by Valentino's development skills is both fallacious and uninformed. Afterall, we've all seen what happens when he genuinely inherits an inferior machine.

Incidentally, watch Lin Jarvis at every race; - on the contrary, his expression says nothing - he's always impassive and betrays very little. In fact the only time I've seen anything elicit a reaction was tellingly at Sepang, by Rossi's on-track meltdown.
