Rookie Question

Hello,

I'm very new to Motogp watching, this is my first season. I have figured out what boppers are, and I'm pretty sure I know who the aliens are, but why are they called aliens? And , what will it take to get a 25-30+ Motogp grid?

Aliens out of this world type thing think Colin and others mentioned it bit like the (GOAT) Greatest Of All Time (Vale) < guaranteed < bopp

the four are another step up from other motogp riders as such

maybe we might get a fifth in the club if pies can barge his way into a regular top 4 finish

Grid size is another long story rules format thing

Kawasaki credit crunched out and the 2007 move to 800.cc aint helped

the days of numerous privateers has gone

privateers getting a ROC Chassis and sticking a motor in it are over even next yr's grid is not set

the new rules in 2012 may help theres still a lot to be sorted who's in and who's out

boppers yeah Jum BM Talpa etc etc etc will point the odd one or two out to ya.

Rossi, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner have won all but 2 (i think) races since the start of the 2007 season with the 800cc rules.

As for the bopper thing, thats just namecalling on here intended to devalue an opinion of someone who is particularly biased to a single rider (usually Rossi). It has no real value besides all the teasing and banter

Bluegreen. The term Aliens first derived to describe Rossi. He head was so overinflated like an aliens that the nickname naturally applied to him. Now that the others have reached his level of self grandiousity they have been labeled with the same nickname.

Capirossi won in 2007 on the Ducati, Vermeulen won in 2007 on the Suzuki and Dovi won on the Honda in 2009.....the last 2 were race races.

It was applied to doohan prior to rossi, with one of the other honda riders who finished 2nd to him saying it was equivalent to a win. not sure whether it was previously applied to others as well.

Got a few more for ya:

Haydenettes- for the fans who wine and complain about Nicky getting shafted(real or fictional).

Stoner boners-for the fans who blindly follow Stoner but mostly a term for all of us who have had a good look at Adriana.

Squid- (Hopper, Killio, Deangilis, BarryMachine) People who cant really ride a bike for .....

The munuto- the championship after the championship is over for the remaining rounds. The riders take this very seriously!!

We had a good one after the 06 championship for Nicky. The cruising caretaker. Rossi fans were known as The mindless cheerleaders in retaliation

Yes, my mistake it was 3 races those guys failed to win, and Loris' win was a wet/dry bike changing job

Don't forget the 'Haters'- .... I just tried to explain them but realized its too difficult to describe such a twisted bunch

There are those who might suggest that a fair amount of hating of the riders associated with categories 1 and 2 goes on, or has gone on in the past in the case of hayden, oddly and I am sure entirely coincidentally mostly from some fans of a particular rider.

I wasn't aware that not being a fan of valentino rossi impaired riding skills; perhaps jorge lorenzo's championship should be rated even higher than it has been thus far.

Well fan's of rider 1 don't necessarily have to like of rider 2, and certainly vice-versa.......I never said the 'Haters' were unique to Rossi at all, I believe you are implying this, I also never excused myself from being a part of this bunch either, to rebut your next point.......

I don't believe it does, however it can cause involuntary bowel movements in cases where the subject has a weak mind, these movements often lead to an instantaneous loss of the front end
