rider? machine? which one is more important for the championship?

I dont really disagree, but i sure as hell wouldnt bet a years paycheck on it. I like Nicky because of who and what he is, a nice humble person who never gives up, and happens to be a hell of a bike racer.I like Spies because he is a methodical, humble. no excuse racer. He just never endeared himself to the home fan like Nicky did, and i will forever root for him over any other because of it..I dont think there is any doubt that Dorna hung their hat on Rossi for the last 6-7 years, and his records are a little embellished because of it. Every sport needs that one guy, and Rossi, with his immense talent, his quirky rituals and fanatical fan base was the obvious choice. I am not a Rossi hater, its some of his fans who fail to see the script and the inequities of the sport who drive me bonkers. No, the sport is not WWF on wheels where the victor is predetermined, but things can be done to assure certain people stand a better chance than others, then its up to the competitor to get it done, and Rossi did just that. This next year will be very exciting because of the unknowns of who will emerge as not only the leader for the championship, but the leaders of teams. Rossi will be undoubtedly the leader of Ducati, but what happens if Nicky starts out the first half of the season outperforming Rossi, will he be allowed to continue, or will it be 06 all over again, where he is testing parts for his teammates 2012 bike. Who will Honda back, Stoner or Pedro as the number 1. It should be good
If stoner is a Jedi i gues Rossi would deffo have to be vader, Nicky would be a storm trooper, pedro would be an ewok & the most certain of all...................

I voted 6:4 although there are variations to this!!
F1 is more like 10:1 in the cars favour. People often critisize the tracks (admittadly the same Tilke ..... is appearing everywhere but the new Texas track looks interesting), but its the cars they cant pass or even follow closely without ....... up their downforce & tyres. Hamilton & Alonso probably 2 of the more aggressive passers on the grid proved that at Abu Dhabi on a track with 2 long straights.

So, Biaggi and Melandry left motogp for WSBK, only because there, they can achive and shine more on a less perfect bike?

A Suzuki ride would have been enough to keep Melandry in motogp for a few years more.

If the script is written, why do you watch races at all? or HOW can you watch it then?
What is a casual spectator? You have only seen the times of a 2 days test, and you think you already know it al. yes that's how a lot of peeps act here.
If Casey is the only alien, he should win it all from now, or not?
If Spies and Hayden changed bikes, i think Ben will win again. you cant bring other riders achivments under question, Because Hayden isn't been able to do a better job. We all saw Edwards who finished 5th in the championship last year, was no match for Ben in his rookie season on the same bike.
What else could Hayden expect from motogp? So far he's been always on a factory bike. I dont know what he or any other rider could have achived by dishonesty in motogp.
You lot need to get over the HRC sabotaging Haydens career conspiracy theory.
I find it funny that Hayden fans are often so vocal about riders getting places for reasons other than their ability when commercial appeal has clearly played its part in Nicky getting to and staying in motogp

I never said Honda sabotaged Hayden's career . I said he was developing parts for a bike that was clearly being built for his teammate .No big deal, thats what #2 riders do, unless somehow, someway, he finds himself smack in the middle of a title run. At some point, Honda should have gone all out and backed Nicky as their #`1 priority for at least the remainder of the season, and that didnt happen. Hayden got in GP on his accomplishments, he was AMA champion, and AMA champions have a pretty damn good history in this sport. Give me your list of riders better than Hayden who are missing their chance at Gp because of Haydens Commercial appeal
Hayden has not been treated as good as a lot of other riders by a long way & he has earnt his way into this series as he did in the domestic championchips he was racing in many years ago at a young age.
I just hope he actually gets his dues at Ducati, i think he will.
He like Spies has gotten where he is on merit not by who he knows, his name or how much money he can muster, the same cannot be said for all the riders on the grid.

I'd like to point out to you Curve that that equation then puts 80% of blame of all losses ( or failures to win
) on the rider too
i thought i sucked at math but youre just a ....... stupid.
Lorenzo no doubt rode at 100% this year, he fulfilled his 80%, Yamaha gave him the best bike on the grid, their 20%.. 2010 Champ

I completely disagree, in 06 Nicky was the number 1 rider, HRC did their job and Nicky was champ.

You're kidding right? Other than the bizarrely talented Stoner, which person (other than those times
when he's been taken out by the ..... of the week) has been consistently the highest placing
rider on the bike that is universally considered most idiosyncratic and difficult to ride?
That, combined with the fact that he is a former world champion EARNED him his seat in MGP
and has generated huge respect for his abilities from both fans and riders.
Funny how so much of the denigration of Hayden and Schwantz seems to originate from
the folks from that little island that hasn't generated a world champion in three decades.

What are you talking about, i like Nicky Hayden and always have done since he was in the AMA. I'm just not under the illusion that he's the only thing right and pure in motogp
