That'll do nicely. I usually hate these 'damage limitation' races where we hear the commentators say 'Redding has done very well to finish seventh, limiting his points lost to Espargaro who won the race. But this was very well done by Redding.

Stoner was still the better premier class rider, by almost any criterion, and wasn't the anointed Honda and/or Repsol rider till very late even in his premier class career. There has been much animadversion by Nakamoto that Stoner should have won the 2012 championship, but not much to this effect concerning Dani by him as I recall.
Go Redding for the 2013 moto2 championship anyway.

When he quallied 13th all I could think was oh fcuk I hope they find something for the race.
What a show! top marks to him and Kalio as they both tore through the field from the off.
Gutted Scott couldn't stay in front of escargo but just a place behind will do.
Got to win another couple to make me breath easy though.

The BBC commentators said that Kalio had 'found something' in post-qualifying practice, and perhaps Redding benefitted from this. Kalio also seemed to stay behind Redding and not give him any difficulty at the end of the race. It could be that Redding owes Kalio one.
