Randy back at LCR in 2010

He not done to bad this year, only one race he fell out of and along with one podium not to bad in my opinion.

The best news for de Puniet is that LCR have signed on for the higher lease rate which sees them guaranteed near factory spec machinery. Development for his bike should only be one or two races behind that of the Repsol bikes.

well...i think 2010 will be a tough year for him with spies on the tech3 and melandri on a better bike than the hayate....then still edwards in and simoncelli....VERY good riders on satellitebikes....hope he gets some good results! really like him!

Gresini has one factory spec bike that should receive upgrades at the same time as LCR. Factory spec bikes had only been available to Gresini in the past few seasons but now Honda has opened it up to anyone willing to pay a higher price. Shouldn't affect Gresini in any way, just that LCR now has a factory spec bike as well.

True Austin, but lets all keep in mind the regardless of the lease rates that Gresini or LCR pay, they will not drive development, that is pretty much the domain of the factory team. The point being that, even when they get updates or a "factory spec" machine, the spec is not for their riders. They must do with what they get. So the rider that can ride around these issues will be the top Honda satellite rider. I think that man will be Melandri. But DePuniet has done a good job this year.

Yeah no doubt that the development duties will still lie in the Repsol garage. Once those boys find something they like, de Puniet and whoever gets the factory bike at Gresini should get those pieces in relatively short order.

I guess it's OK to see ol' Randy DePuniet back on the grid for next year, he does make things interesting. But to see him as a true contendor for the championship..... Nahhh.
