doesn't coordination get ...... up when youre leaned over and you have something in your ear?

i don't know how good ear protection is with these guys , but i imagine it a bit difficult to understand instructrions from the crew when revving a 1000cc monster above 14.000 rpm....

I know its hard to comprehend focus coming from a drug addled brain but for normal people it is indeed possible

A trackside light system along with flags would be best. It is still expense though, they have to weigh the saftey up, & (as Andy said) they wouldn't have done much for the worst incidents we have seen over the last couple of years.

Excerpts from 2012 and 2013 season team radio conversations...

Mike Leitner to Dani Pedrosa Phillip Island 2012

" OK Dani, great start. Just get around these first few corners and you are away for the win. Don't choke whatever you do "

Race direction to Jorge Lorenzo Sepang 2012

" Whats up JLO ? Sorry to bother you on the team radio, but just let us know when you want the race stopped. Either give us a call back, or just put your hand up. We await you signal "

Juan Martinez to Nicky Hayden Laguna GP 2013

" Just thought you should know Nicky, but we have just seen your gay Mexican stalker standing at the Corkscrew "

Tom Houseworth to Ben Spies at any race in 2013

" Which gravel trap should we collect the bike from ? "

I voted no, for the simple reason I think it's wrong in F1 how the teams instruct the driver how to drive the damn car, I wouldn't want to see that happen in motogp. It was actually nice on Sunday when the team were trying to tell Kimi Raikkonen how to drive and he told them to 'leave me alone I know what I'm doing'. The team don't need to be telling the riders how to ride, the flags work well enough as far as I'm concerned. Yes there is a safety aspect, but as far as I can see it's worked just fine up to now. Maybe as someone else suggested lights as well as flags would help with that but not radios, please not radios!

This has already been debated on several previous threads.

Almost a decade ago Team Roberts were given dispensation to trial a ship to shore system with Aoki - the general rider consensus was not in favour of such a system. Such systems have remained illegal.

Whilst on the subject of ship to shore.....didn't Dani recently experiment with a covertly hidden earpiece during his yachtmaster examination? (That was also deemed illegal).

<

That must be the same illegal earpiece he has been using this season: "Dani, now, go for the inside, yes, don't be afraid, go..." until last race when "Dani, I told you the inside, not the outside... shyte"

Two way conversations in particular would probably be actively dangerous particularly whilst racing on a bike, there is apparently research data to show it is highly distracting whilst listening only is not, used to bring in possibly somewhat draconian rules/penalties for in car mobile phone use in Australia recently; I guess these guys aren't average citizens though.

We have similar penalties here but no-one takes any notice.

I had a good laugh when I heard him say that. Kimi isn't one for emotion one way or the other, but he spoke with more in that radio call than I have ever heard him use before.
