Give me something to come back to then

.

We can all play with times and numbers. i could come back with the fact that Wataru Yashikawa only finished 2.835 secs behind the next competitor where as Roger lee finished some 21.275 sec behind his. such figures are meaningless because every race tells a different story. As i said, fair play to Roger and Wataru for giving it a go but i would not say either were what id call competitive. You seemed so sure Roger would be better than a test rider. He was NOT.

and do you know who Wataru finished only 2.835 seconds behind? Andrea Dovizioso, who, as i am sure you know, crashed in that race! and Andrea finished 23 seconds behind Kousuke Akiyoshi, the other Japanese test rider.

We could even argue Roger new Guna a lot better than Wataru new Catalyuna, Fact still stands. They were both as non competitive as each other. If you cant see that then thats your problem

RL said his goal was "not to do anything dumb". He didn't crash, he didn't come last, he didn't take anybody out, he qualified within tenths not seconds of the next competitor, he was even not last in some practice sessions. He'd never ridden the bike or experienced the tires until Friday afternoon. In the world of racing, if you finish over a guy who crashed out, guess what, you beat him. This includes the injuries that result which may hinder one's championship run. He was asked on a moments notice if he was willing to ride a 800cc MotoGP bike and dude jumped at the opportunity (as he should). Considering the challenge and the facts of his result, I'd say with a great degree of certainty that he would undoubtedly improve if given the opportunity. Was he more competitive than a test rider? Absol-.......-lutely! Not even debatable. Smoke that Chops.

i guess its a pointless argument as you see things in your own unique way. such as it being Gibernaus fault he crashed and Rossi was just an innocent bystander.
