R.L Hayden to replace DePuniet at Laguna

Great summation Lex.

Roger is in the position he is in now because a culmination of events not in his favor. All it takes is one good crash and suddenly your career can be on the skids. This is the very reason why most of us Yanks found Cowardlow' decision foolhardy. If Rog had not run the wildcard on the Kwak and had a respectable finish than he never would have been considered for this wildcard. His career which is on life support is getting the jolt it may need to propel him out of the doldrums just because of his decision to ride the Kwak years ago.

What if Crutch does jump to moto2 next year and either he starts getting his ... kicked or an injury sidelines him. With a slew of Italians and midget Spainards clamming to take his place he could end up in the same place Roger is now. With no history or experience on a GP bike there is no way anyone is going to look back and remember the English kid who won a wss championship years before.

I hope this happens

Go Roger!!!

R.L. is not terrible by any means, but selecting him just shows the dearth of talent America has at the moment. Seriously, after Spies has now moved up, is there anyone else even in the pipelines? The spout maybe dry for awhile.

Not for Too long A lot of the kids who were in the Rookies cup should be up there in a few years! JD Beach, Cameron Baubier, Benny Solis Jr. and Gange who has been kicking ... this year all have bright futures! Hopefully Josh Herrin can finally go over to Europe with in the next 2 years and try his hand at the world stage.

The spouts not dry it's just full of Puig Templates.

Does it dawn on you that there is only one American rider in moto 2. It's not because of lack of talent but lack of Spanish or Italian birth certificates.

It drives me batty to see the agression and speed Herrin has on a 600 and he can't even get a nod from Puig's little "sp aryan ish race"

Jesus h christ, do you really need to be told this ? Try new bike new team, carbon brakes, little time to get used to these and set up bike ect ect . He is a tallent and i hope he rocks but im not holding much hope because im realistic,

so when he wildcarded on the Kawasaki in 2007 it wasn't a new bike, new team? they didn't have carbon brakes WAAAAAAAY back then? he got to test? and i said competitive. that doesn't mean he is gonna get on the podium. it means he probably won't be miles off the pace like the japanese test riders. i mean jesus h christ, do you really need to be told all this bopperman?

Not to demean Roger's accomplishment, but the Michelins were awful in 2007 at Laguna Seca. Nicky and Hopper took one another out as well. Roger was basically fighting with Barros for the worst of the Bridgetstone runners. It was still quite a feat when you consider how little time he had on the bike.

This time around with a Bridgestone control tire, I think he'll be lucky to stay within 1 second of the back markers. I'd love for him to prove me wrong though.

with the grid size even back in 07 10th place is hardly competitive. Note your on your own with your view so who's the bopper
<
Plus riding a wild card 3 years ago and now coming back for a ride is hardly useful experience. It's still new bike, new team, new tyres and carbon brakes he is far from used to. Think before you speak .......... !

think before you speak bopperman. i never said his previous experience will help him but if he could do it once, why not do it again? and 10th place is hardly competitve against the best riders in the world on a bike for the first time? i said he would be somewhat competitive compared to a japanese test rider and you are acting like i said he will beat rossi and finish on the podium. you are lost dude.

I know the tires are huge but the fact that he is riding a Honda this time has to help. Especially if he gets to use the upgraded chassis and electronics that Randy received. Although I think the electronics package was new in Germany so maybe that's not a good thing. I'm hoping for another 10th and I will be disappointed if he's running around in last place.

Well yes you pretty much have and did above and with this post

i am considering the fact he finished 10th here on a piece of .... Kawasaki and will now be on the best costumer bike on the grid.

I have not mentioned Rossi at all, so why are you bringing him into this ? anyway whatever dude , like your having a go at me about spies only to make yourself look an ..., your just spoiling to fight. Trouble is you're not worth the time or effort .
<

like i said, you are lost. i'm talking about his ability to adapt. and you are the one spoiling for a fight as i made a sarcastic comment about japanese test riders and you decided to jump on my comment of "somewhat competitve" and make an argument about it. oh, and last i checked, Spies got a podium this season. guess all those people hyping Spies in the offseason were right.

yeah. and guess who predicted it

1. spies, because of his ability to learn new track's. This time it's new for everyone and that may give him the edge.

2. stoner. Nice fast track and i think he will like it.

3. pedrosa. same as above

4. Lorenzo. Happy to follow the above and learn the track and gain valuable championship points.

My link

your right on one thing. i am lost, lost on wtf you are now going on about. You implied tommy would be competitive because he had ridden the kwak. me and a couple of other said we did not think so and gave our reasons. so wtf is your problem ?

Ask chris vermeulen, to whom I am sure you were alluding in your earlier post, as to the combined effects of riding for kawasaki and injury on a career (actually the latter was probably not unrelated to the former), and he is a racewiinner and achieved multiple podiums in motogp.

That's why non-Euros have to take the initiative and move over there. Isn't that what Stoner's parents did? If an American has something to prove, better to get yourself over there than wait for the chance (if it ever appears).

I still contend it's not like America is some rider feeder hotbed, for the most part we just don't have much elite talent in the first place.

Actually, I was referring primarily to Hopkins who had his run in with injuries and Kawasaki in 2008. It was so bad he's almost been forgotten.

CV is on my mind as well b/c he is Kawasaki's latest victim. I can only hope that knee surgery goes well and the 2011 bike is competitive. Otherwise, CV will find himself forced into early semi-retirement like John Hopkins.

Chris should ride in the AMA if it doesn't go well. Mladin had a good time and he never had to endure winter for 15 years. It must have been heaven.

I would agree that hopper was overall better in motogp than chris, no wins but 4th in the championship on a suzuki is not to be sneezed at. It is getting hard to differentiate between kawasaki and suzuki in career-killer efficacy, in motogp anyway.

I would agree, Hopper made a better job of it than Chris, but i don't think there was much wrong with that 07 Suzuki.

Fair play to him for giving it a go but i did not expect anything more than bringing up the rear for the reason's i posted earlier.

What you say .........., no better than the japanese test riders you dissed ? Unless you ride these bikes all the time there is just no ....... way you can jump on one and be competitive. Bayliss had more experiance and fluked it before you bring him up. This is not 'hating on a rider' , its being realistic.

no better you say?

1) he didn't get lapped

2) he didn't finish last

3) he was never 4 seconds slower than the next fastest guy in practice or qualifying

so, just like i said, he was more competitive than a japanese test rider
