Impressive race by Aleix bring the Ape home in 6th.

Using 20/20 hindsight, Marc probably would've fared better if he kept the hard front.

What a race! Vinales aka "Deserves No Hype Man" as some on this forum call him has just thrown down a gauntlet.

Good result from Rossi considering he was nowhere in FP sessions.

Sherpa M1.

It's not all Vinales, it's the bike.

And Rossi probably spent the last 24 hours looking at Vinales' telemetry and copied his settings usual. Same thing he did with Lorenzo.

Or he may have thrown it down the road.

Maybe. We know both Marc and Cal usually prefer the hard and that's what they used the most this weekend. At least Marc salvaged some good points while Cal crashed twice.

Yep, Vinales and Rossi suck and it's all the M1. Like I said, the MV vs MM comparisons start THIS season and it's MV on top of the podium and MM not even on it.

Right, Rossi routinely copied Lorenzo's settings because their riding style and bike setups are practically identical. It's called hating when you look for reasons to hate on someone's good performance.

Must say I'm impressed with Vinales. Of course the Yamaha is a great bike, but he showed something tonight. Kept cool, made precision passes and did just enough to win. The Honda was weaker than even expected here and will not be favored against the Yamaha at Argentina. Rossi did a good job bringing it home for a podium. Lorenzo, enjoy the paycheck is all the advice I can give. The Ducati performance on most tracks is probably closer to where Lorenzo finished than where Dovi finished.

Where's Lorenzo without the M1? lol

Rossi's been copying settings for years.

Where have you been?

Wow, he's an amazing rider then. Apparently he can instantly adapt his riding style to another rider's settings. That would make him more impressive than Stoner. All this time I thought you disliked him, but you're always adding more talents to Rossi's resume. Sorry, you'll have to wait for Mugello to fill out your application to join the Yellow Horde.

Iannone looked amazing on the Suzuki. Shame he crashed. Definitely a title contender.

I dont think repsol will be there this year. The bike looked so damm hard for Marc to control. 2 more laps and the Aprilia would have passed them both..

Yamaha; As smooth as usual. Maverick is one to reckon with. So is Rossi. Shame the Q got cancelled. Rossi would have been further up in the mix.

Zarco and Dovi will be the 2 dark horses this season.

Lorenzo wont stand a chance this year.

Rossi, Maverick and Iannone for the title.

Be honest, who thought Zarco would maintain his early lead & pace?

Probably no one with any working knowledge of the sport. It was a classic case of a rider on a decent bike with soft tires and zero title chances throwing caution to the wind. The others couldnt take those chances and lose the title at race 1. Once the track got some rubber on it and they got some heat in their tires,Zarco would have been swallowed up. Had he not tossed it down the road, he may have had a top 5-7 though.

Ianonne has more than likely removed himself from title contention already. 25 points down to a superior machine is huge. His title chances were if Maverick and Rossi threw it down the road and he was able to build a points lead and hope for even more bad luck for Yamaha along the way.

Maverick did an excellent job and as usual the Yamaha is the best bike on the grid but we already knew that.

Honda has a lot of work to do, I think changing tyres did hurt Marcs pace though. Jack and Pedros results are probably a positive though.

Gutted for Zarco

Dovi did his usual, as did Iannone and Rossi.

Aleix was probably the ride of the night though. It was an excellent ride and Suzuki must be kicking themselves for booting him.

Jorges career is probably over, Carmello won't help him get back to Yamaha and I don't see the Duc being where or what he needs it to be. Qatar has always been a strong track for the Duc and he failed big time tonight.

Can't wait for Argentina. Unfortunately the first 3 rounds don't give great insight to how the seasons going to go.

I'm probably looking too far ahead, but I'm more interested in seeing if Vinales can beat Marquez at COTA than Argentina.
