Qatar Race - Spoiler

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (michaelm @ Mar 9 2008, 08:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I suspect these were conditions for michelin

rossi has destroyed his tyre but stoner doesn't seem to think it ws such a problem ?. Fingers crossed for beter results for rossi

wow good race

good battle for 4,5,6

It's really strange how much has changed since last season. Suzuki are god awful again, kawasaki's top speed means nothing because the bike can't handle. Honda appear to be vindicated in their design of the 2007 bike. They have found some people who can ride it as well as Pedrosa. Honda have obviously gotten launch control right on the 2008 bike
<
I bet it won't be long before Dovi gets to ride it.

Nicky's and Marco's swan songs started tonight. It kills me to say that because both of them are obviously talents, but motogp has moved away from them and they aren't adapting.

Especially Nicky. How the hell did he go from setting new circuit records during the off season to this replayed nightmare of 2007? What the hell is going on? I know his winter race pace has been slightly off, but it hasn't been out of the top 10.

It looks like sparks are gonna fly at Jerez. Pedrosa and Lorenzo both look well placed to battle to the death in 3 weeks time.

race started out good...but turned into a 2007 parade again..lame.

thank god for WSBK....Moto GP sucks.

I disagree.

There were good battles all throughout the race. The Tech3's were closer to the Fiats than I expected.

Can't wait till Tech3 get the new engine, they'll be challenging on the straights then.

Did anyone see Lorenzo shush the crowd when the announced Pedrosa on the podium.

Classic.

is there anywhere i can go to fiind out what tyres they all used ??? like soft/medium/hard ??

rossi seemed to have grip straight away but then started to fade his bike was moving around alot??
i noticed stoner hang back until he got some heat in the tyres before going for it, i think he may have been using a harder compound???
im thinking rossi didnt pick a hard enough tyre because he had plenty of grip then started slipping.

not a bad race tho congrats to stoner and lorenzo

Great ride from Lorenzo! And Rossi was good until tyres gave in. Pedrosa had a good race, amazing start!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (michaelm @ Mar 9 2008, 04:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Colin went better than I expected.
why? he finished his usual 6th place.

Great race from Stoner. Calm and fautless, not to mention fast as hell. Lorenzo looks the goods great first ride. Really impressed with Pedrosa, .... off season, ordinary practice sessions and really managed to pull the best of the 08 hybrid during the race.

Dovi putting in a great performance and looking the goods to get an 08 bike soon enough. Rossi rode to about where he practice pace suggested. JT putting a nice pass on Lorenzo early on, more please. Edwards doing pretty crap considering everyone that finished behind him aren't contenders.

de Puniet proved again that he can't race over 22 laps, 1 laps sprints are his specialty.

Suzuki back to sucking, I guess they'll need to wait for another rule change before being competitive again. Ultra crap ride from West, on what is a very ordinary looking bike.

Finally a sensible comment about Hayden. He's not adapting and the more he struggles the more he chases his tail, the further away everyone else gets. Melandri even more ..... considering the pace of Stoner.

Hope Jerez is closer at the finish!

I seriously underestimated Lorenzo and now can't wait to see him and Dani at it in 3 weeks time in spain. However Dovi is the guy that really impressed me tonight, what a good move he put on Rossi to get past. And how about Toselands move on Lorenzo earlier in the race? Got to be the hardest move of the race.

He is with tech3 rather than factory this year, and also maintained his performance through the whole race which he tended not to do last year.

Lorenzo I thought would do well but I was well surprised @ Dovi & Toseland - far better results than I expected from both of them

This is the first time Hayden has been gang ..... by satellite riders on the exact same equipment since the introduction of the 800s. This is the first time there hasn't been loud collective bitching from the 2007 Honda runners.

We all know he wasn't testing a new batch of parts out of the rubbish bin, so this is the first appropriate time to really give him a whooping for embarrassing himself. He has enough experience to overcome losing a few practice rounds while picking his race parts.

Finally........please.

You wanted people to slag him off when he won the championship

Yeah the night race was hawt.

But here's an idea, why don't they use it to race through the summer break instead of running at near polar temperatures in the middle east deserts.

I did appreciate the lack of wind though.

Besides how core would these guys be to ride night races in the summer. Moths to the face shield, gnats covering every inch of leather, bullfrogs bouncing off of the fairings.

I'd have immense respect for them then because they'd be battling the same things I battle.

Dovi will be in the Repsol garage next year with Pedrosa. Goodbye Nicky - I wonder where you'll be going next year? Definately not suzuki or kawasaki cause their bikes are pieces of pus!! Yamaha? - Only one (possible) spot at tech3? i don't think anyone wants to get on that ducati, bar Stoner! Looks like AMA or world supers for you!
