<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Now as far as my Qatar predictions go, I am thinking about Pedrosa, Rossi, and Hayden. Not because I think they are the three most likely winners, but because they have piqued my curiosity more than any other 3 riders.
Pedrosa has my attention because he has HUGE potential coupled with a year's worth of premier-class experience.
Rossi is on my radar screen because...well...he's Rossi.
I'm also wondering if the Valencia crash has affected his composure at all (I doubt that it has, but you never know!).
This brings us to Nicky. He ran very well at Qatar last year. The Kentucky Kid battled The Doctor until pushing the front during corner entry, which allowed Rossi an insurmountable advantage. If Hayden was so strong at Qatar last year, then what will '07 bring? I'm anxious to see what the events of the Valencia GP could have brought out in Nicky. He started the race strong and blistered towards the front while Rossi struggled. Judging by how quickly he closed the gap to Bayliss, I really think Nicky had it in him to win that race. Yet Rossi sent his 8-point lead sliding into the gravel trap and Hayden, no longer needing a P1, decided to take it easy and avoid a costly mistake. Not only did Nicky race hard coming off of the devastating Estoril crash, he also saw that Rossi was human
. So, what will this do for his confidence? Assuming he has recieved one, how much will a boost in confidence help Hayden next year? In "Faster," Kevin Schwantz said, "I believe 90% of motorcycle racing is between the ears." Hmm.....
Hi Mr. Shupe. Once again, the voice of reason. I've missed you.
Here is my prediction:
1. Hayden
2. Pedrosa
3. Stoner
4. Rossi
5. Loris
