Must be a happy day for you Jumkie as Pedrose bumped him self into Rossi an out in the gravel

Nice crash by Pedders. Almost ran up Rossi's arse!! He's ok but it can't be good for his confidence/session!

i know wtf was dani doing??? day dreaming about midget .... again while in mid corner.....

wow lorenzo is looking quick and consistant

In all fairness the problem were probably that Rossi had a slide or let off the trottle for a split second. It happens and it hurts to be behind when that happen. BTDT.

yes thats probably rite, he wasnt going to quick anyway he just came back out of the garage and i think he was trying to get some heat in the tyres before going a bit quicker.

WTF is going on here? Is this the rookie cup? 3 yamahas ahead of Rossi and Jorge super quick, lapping right up with Stoner?
Westy, another crash? Not looking good already for you. Where was Hopper?
Bad day for Repsol honda! Nicky running off the track and a decent crash by Pedrosa!
I really can't believe how quick the rookies are! I may have to revise my statement that none of them will win this year.
Oh, a new lease of life for Colin Edwards? A change of teams and stepping out of Rossi's shadow seems to be working wonders.

Fantastic Moto GP session, pleased to see Casey not running away into the distance, indeed being put under some pressure by the Yamaha No1. JT 3rd, Dovi 5th,.....rookies 2nd, 3rd and 5th!!!!!! Perhaps this is a sign of how the Moto GP class has for some time been lacking in true quality, highlighted by Troy Bayliss at the end of 2006.

Wow, crazy session.

Nicky must be testing, but who knows, he's on the 2007 machine so maybe 1:57's or mid 1:56's is all he can do on that bike.

The real story is Rossi and Lorenzo. First, Lorenzo finished in front of Rossi. Second, both of them are making 320 down the main straight.
<

How fast were they going last year? Rossi - 302.2; Edwards - 302.1

18kph in one year. Good thing they switched to 800's

Hi again boys & girls, finally home again after a couple of months away training!

Good to log on here to see lots of good discussion here on this thread already. Like I said at the end of last year's championship... the "08 season is set to be a corker!

One item I'd like to revisit that has already been touched on earlier in the thread is to make note of Marco Melandri's progress ( or lack thereof ) on the Duke... Almost everyone agreed months ago that Marco would probably go well on the red beast & that if he couldn't then it would prove that Casey's riding abilities had as much to do with his results in "07 as did the machine.

Interesting to now see given Casey's obvious superiority at this point, that opinion has now shifted to believing that Ducati are "doing a Honda" & building the bike only to suit Casey?

I mean c'mon guys, the bike outwardly looks identical to last year's machine & still looks pretty much like every Ducati MotoGP bike that has been created & Marco would no doubt have complete control over every facet of adjustment that goes into his own machines, same as every other rider does... and judging by the top speeds he most certainly is enjoying the same Ducati powerplant!

How about we just agree with what someone has said earlier in the thread, in that Casey is the only one that seems capable of using the Duke to it's potential at this time...

Same can't be said for the Yamaha though! My god, they did get a rocket up their arse didn't they? Lost count of how many of them in the top ten... I wonder what Vale will say if he starts getting beaten by the young pups on the same equipment??

Mmmm, probably won't be a happy camper methinks...

i think that if Rossi can't beat Lorenzo it will mean only one thing... that he is finished. we'll see on Sunday

There are some venemous rossi fans on crash.net. Implying Lorenzo and JT were on Quali's because they beat Rossi!
<

Mega run by Jorge at the end....want JT to get that engine ASAP.

he may be coming to his end but far from finished, he will shine on race day when it matters you will see, as for lorenzo i always knew he would be quick in motogp not sure how its gonna translate in races tho, i said months ago lorenzo would be quick, he kind of reminds me of rossi on the track not sure why?

We've all come to grips with the fact that no one can ride the Ducati but Stoner. Furthermore, almost no one on the grid can ride as well as Stoner. That conversation is so last month.

Anywho DeAngelis is suddenly fast and Nakano is back marking.

It appears as though Hayden is testing, but he wasn't supposed to be doing a lot of that this season, and he's on the 2007 so what's to test? I'm worried.

Whoa!!!!Hold on mate,it`s only the first race.

Rossi's decision to switch to Bridgestone might be the right choice eventually but i have a feeling the champion this year will be on Michelin and it won't be Honda

I think the problem here is that there is still a lot of denial about Rossi ....

So folks still seem incapable of believing Rossi is past his prime.

A few facts

Rossi has not been at the top for a few years now ..... but in many minds he still is
<

in 2006 Hayden was the best in the world ...... though very few accept it.

in 2007 Stoner absolutely dominated ..... ( equal best season points score in history ) but peole still doubt him )

In 2007 Rossi was 3rd place not 2nd ..... he was not Stoners nemesis .... Pedrosa was in fact the guy Stoner had the most competition from .... deny it all you like but history shows Pedrosa was it.

So why is it still a :great surprise" when Rossi is no longer a top runner?
<

I'm impressed how this night version looks like! Bikes are so shiny and beautiful. Eye candy!
I might want more night races.

and I'm also impressed with rookies.

Flipping well said.....but I think Muzzy was referring though to the man himself, rather than his oh so passionate fanatics. I think the man actually has more dignity, and has raced enough and won enough to know damn well his time is coming to an end. He is still a fine rider, and will still be super competetive, but I think if he does get beaten he will take it generally with a smile on his face, not forgetting a huge pay cheque in his back pocket.
