Dani Pedrosa

"After dedicating some time entirely to recover, I have decided not to take part in the British Grand Prix this week. I've done everything I could to be fit in time for Silverstone, but the conditions are not right to return to compete with guarantees.

I need to feel 100% fit before I get on the bike again and to be sure I can fight for the victory, I don't want to go out there just to do laps. I've raced many times with pain and the experience tells me I'm still not ready to be competitive. I've decided not to take further risks and will instead continue my recovery process so I may return in the best possible way.

It's time for me to be logical and not only follow what my heart says, or my desire to return. I want to return as soon as possible, but I want to do it when I have ability to fight to win. It's not the time yet".

Somebody posted that he had a training accident, or a rumor of that? I wonder if there is any truth. Anyway, that accident got him another couple of years at Repsol.

No mention of an accident, but yea, i read the same thing on Krop. What i want to hear is the Ducati engine situation, Krop said he would be reporting on that today. I thought i read somewhere, maybe here, that Hayden was on his 4th engine already.

The Pedrosa situation is very strange. I find it very difficult to believe that he won't be racing because he's not fully fit. The season is still very long so why give up two or three races of grabbing some points. Something must have happened?
<
Edwards will start a week afther his crash.

As far as Hayden goes:

N° 1 is worn

N° 2 blew up and replaced by N° 3

N° 4 is the new spec engine

So it's possible
<

Can Ducati use the old engine on fridays and go to the new spec on saturday and sunday ?

Even if he comes back at Assen the championship is over Stoner is in control. Lorenzo has yet to win a dry race

Sorry for the off topic:

I' thought they only used the new frame last weekend and the old engine?

It was reported ( GPone I think? ) that he had a fall in a practice motard session and has reinjured himself.

They were more worried about his mentality after the accident as he was talking of retirement etc. and was apparently very "down".

I am sure he could ride, the question is how competitively. If he gets smashed by stoner and simoncelli I am not sure how this affects his prospects, although I gather he has a 2 year deal. Perhaps he thinks coming back from previous injuries early has availed him little, and that getting himself properly healthy and then being able to win races when he comes back as stoner did in 2009 will be better for his career long-term.

I think they can employ the engines however they like once they come into use.

Something is going on, you dont just give up on the championship like that. He could ride with one arm and garner 10 points a race which could be huge at the end of the season. Dani may have quit and they are in the process of trying to get him back on solid mental ground. I can see Puig now with Dani in his lap, rocking and stroking the back of his head, telling him, it will be alright.

Dani has done this before. To him, it is easier to say he will chase the title next year, which for the rest of this season removes the weight from his shoulders he has shown time and time again he isn't capable of carrying. Every other rider in the series would be racing at Silverstone were they in his situation, even the guys that have a snowball's chance in hell of ever being competitive. THAT is why Dani Pedrosa will never win a championship.

In both the literal and metaphorical sense on this occasion

Krop and others mention a 'domestic accident' that set back his recovery.

I guess Dani shouldn't have chosen 'Nicky!' as the safeword. This probably caused 'Uncle' Alberto to lose his temper...

That's going to be it - Pedro only fights when he's winning - the Stoner dominance unnerves him. Unfortunate that he's not going to fight for honda 1-2-3 placing - guess having thar 2012 contract dulls the cutting edge. ImO - all sort of crazy this early in the season

Too bad Dani is so physically fragile.....this was his best beginning of the season, even with Stoner being so fast.

I reckon he has lost his nerve. When he falls off he breaks bones. When he thinks he's going to fall off he stands the bike up...hence the crash into Simoncelli's rear. I believe any onther rider would have tipped it in under Simoncelli and forced him up and out of the corner.

Pedrosa is too soft for racing both physically and mentally. Time to leave Dani, thanks for the bland memories.

No, Sic touched his front wheel, that's why he stood the bike up his time...there is one video that shows just that....... but about Dani's fragility....it's too sad, but its true.

Mentally he used to be very weak, but lately he stronger and stronger.....he even passed Rossi on the brakes a few times, and remember, he is only 55 kg heavy, and has a huge disadvantage when braking.

Ant the thing I like about him most, he is faaaast.
