Nicky... don't bum yourself out

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Doc 79 @ Oct 18 2006, 09:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That actually isn't what this was about at all.....it was about me defending a new member who decribed Vale as having superhuman ability (ie. special talent) from the onslaught of those who immediately condone that opinion as "trollish" and "bopperish"......by doing so, I was actually trying to eliminate the problem you mention......

Defending other members' opinions is great, that's a very respectable thing and I commend it. However, there was still debate among members as to whether or not Rossi is human. Joking or not, is that even necessary to bring up?

You've been here since the get go of this forum man....I think the thing that makes this place cool is that anything and everything can be said.....so...yeah it was worth bringing up I guess.......

I think people just need to calm down a bit. Since Estoril the site has been really active, people have been very emotional and we've had a lot of new memebers join who are also very excited or emotional and eager to share their points of view. Obviuosly some of these posts will attract negative attention because we have people from all over the world with all sorts of opinions on this forum, and people are going to disagree. But I think people just need to cool off a bit and remember to respect others before they start posting. Since Estoril we've had several incidents that are regretable, members feeling unwelcome and the like. The more the merrier, it's great that we have had the influx of new memebers and the differing opinions have the potential to create very healthy and energetic debates, but things like maturity and respect need to be remembered. I'm not singling anyone out here, I'm just saying if everyone could just think about this a little bit, we could avoid ugly situations. I'll admit, it's not easy. I'm sure we've all read a few posts this week and have thought "That's just ridiculous" (I know I have), but remember it is someone's opinion. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with somebody, it's great for discussion, but there's a very fine line between respectfully disagreeing with someone's opinion and posting somthing that will insult or aggrivate them. As the members of this forum, we're the ones who control the atmosphere. So it's up to us to decide whether we want to create a healthy atmosphere in which people feel free to post thier opinions without fear of ridicule, or do we want to create a negative atmosphere where people resort to insults and making others feel unwelcome as a way of disagreeing with their opinions? I hope we can all take the time to think about this and avoid damaging the atmosphere of this awsome place to discuss MotoGP.

Peace.

What, getting up at 6:00 am for a job that is crap?
Nope, that's not laughable. That is, unless your job is your dream come true (motogp riders and 5% of the world population) or you are a millionaire (motogp riders and 0.5% of the world population).

Dani Pedrosa and not Hayden is who will challenge Valentino in the future.
[/quote]

I agree
If I was to bet for future results my money would be on Pedrosa even if I can't stand the guy. I think Rossi will have way more problems from him than he will from Hayden in next seasons.

The potential is there!
Who is the one doing it now though?
Its a tossup I guess? lol
I favor hayden for now just because he has diced with Rossi before, Pedrosa has but always loses and gets left behind. Hayden has actuallu kept up with him a few times.

I don't think you got it right , man, if I remember correctly he was poor in understanding and preparing income taxes and had others do it for him..

He most certainly could. He won the race here last year. Although I bet the injusry he got from last race will put him out of shape a little bit.
