<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ptk50 @ Oct 17 2006, 09:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Hi, truth of the matter is that Nicky Hayden just isn't made out of what it takes to be a (real) champion. Like you say both Repsol riders could have gone out a lap earlier if Dani had more fight in him and and countered Hayden's hard pass. Hard passing is not Pedrosa's style and that is one of the reasons why he needs more time in MotoGP. Dani Pedrosa and not Hayden is who will challenge Valentino in the future. What's this crap about Dani can atone for his mistake if we run one/ two in Spain. Aside of the unfounded assumption that Rossi (and a good few others, Capirossi, Elias, Roberts, Stoner to name just a few) will trickle around at 3rd or less to let Dani "atone" - does Nicky Hayden seriously believe that if he and Dani had the race to themselves thast Dani should make him a gift of the 1st place. Get real Nicky, or join Ferrari, be thankfull for the problems that have screwed up Rossi's season so far and take a lesson from the way he responded to Toni Elias after he apologized for the 1st corner crash in the opening race. Repsol Honda fields the best bike, enjoys the biggest R&D budget and will possibly have a future champion with Dani Pedrosa, but right now Valentino champions MotoGp on and off the track - in adversity as well as success.
I'm glad to see that someone understood my post. I was trying to get the point across that even though he has had pitfalls this season, four of them where he has only collected a total of 2 points in 4 races, he has stayed focus on his objective to repeat as World Champion. Ordinary riders would have given up already. That is why I used the term Superhuman.
As for Nicky, his biggest complaint is that he has had clutch problems all season. Yes he was consistent all year, but one sign of adversity, he's on the verge of losing his composure on camera and making the statement that his teammate owes him. That is no the sign of a true champion.
