I had an opportunity to watch Nicky's post race interview on MotoGP.com and I must say that Nicky will learn that if it's not his time, then so be it.
He needs to look at the facts of the whole season and understand that Valentino is super human. He has faced adversity since race one. He was knocked off his bike going into turn one from the start of the race and battled back to post a 14th place finish picking up 2 points.
In China he had to withdraw because the front of the bike did not feel right to him. Low and behold, there was a chunk of rubber torn out of the front tire. At Lemans he was leading by 5 seconds and on his way to victory until his bike gave out. Same happened at Laguna Seca and he only had 2 laps to go.
Point being is that Valentino has had to overcome more that what Nicky faced in this last race and I have not seen him on the verge of losing it in front of the camera and or asking of his teammate to take second fiddle if they are fighting for the top spot at Valencia.
Nicky also needs to understand that on Sunday's race at Estoril, he stacked Dani one lap prior too their crash. The following lap and at the same corner, Dani felt he was too hot and braked in the corner and washed the frt end on the rumble strip. He was definitiely a good distance from Nicky but unfortunately his bike smacked his and caused the crash. It definitely is a racing accident.
Nicky needs to move on and get strong. Objective one is to win at Valencia. Dont worry where Valentino finishes, fate will decide if he wins the Championship or not. If he doesnt win it, it is because he had a determined defending champion who never quit all the way since race 1. Hopefully he will be able to learn from Valentino's determination and go on to win championships too
