Neil hodgson?

Nice guy and stuff.
He has a "heavy" sort of humor though. The kind you would find in a bar. Then again he was born in Isle of Mann where its full of biker loving bars.

You have to learn to appreciate his sense of humor.

I think Tornado could have been talking about the other British WSB champ mentioned in this thread. That makes more sense to me

Oh the ....... with the arrogance problem?
he entertains me, we need characters in the world like him. Sponsor friendly head-nodders get old.

I salute him, I'm a bit of an ....... myself and I can only give props! lol

Wrong both Fogarty and Hodgson are from Lancashire which is a county in England.
Hodgson does however live on the IOM.

You gotta hand it to Foggy, he was so successful on the diesels in the 90's but has managed to have most people thinking he is a ..... Could he have beaten Doohan? well Koscinski kicked his arse on the Honda that Foggy said was crap and went running back to Ducati with his tail between his legs.

The guy could ride a superbike, no question, but his GP runs werent so special. In the 93 British GP he ran well after Doohan, Schwantz etc had crashed but when Capirossi passed him, he had "brake trouble" and when Niall Mackenzie passed hin, he "ran out of petrol" Funny but even his team boss asked how he managed the slowing down lap after that!

There is no disputing the guy could ride, unfortunately, he could also talk, and that why he put folk off. The way he raised the profile of Superbikes here in the UK was amazing though, most brit bike fans had no interest in Motogp then, because MCN focused so much on Supers.

The bike press over here made such a thing of it that Brits all wanted to do Supers instead of GP. Shame, at that time we had MacKenzie and McWilliams out there doin great business on basically crap bikes.

OOPs! it wasnt Capirossi, it was Luca Cadalora!

neil is going to WSB one way or another - only he still hasn't signed for anyone (at the time of print anyway).

i'm pretty sure he'd rather eat his own feet than ride for foggy.

looks like it's ME who'll be eating his own feet !

Don't you you just love it when that happens !

I can't beleive Hodgie is actually considering a ride with Foggy - to hear the press (albeit that rag of a toilet paper MCN) they hate each other.

It's a funny old world innit

Im such a fan of Hodgeson, and i would love to see him in WSB again! I reemember all the hubub about him "not deserving his title" and what not on certain forums it made me sick.

I will say i hope he rides for anyone but Foggy

GO NEIL

Still can't stand him,
<
Just keeping my fingers extremely crossed for Foggy to get a sponsor, I want the FP1 into production properly too!

Hope Hodgson gets a good ride whatever series, the guy still has immense talent! And remember you Foggy bashers who bought a fistful of WSBK titles back to these shores for you.He may be an arrogant man but (as I`ve often said) he put his body on the line for your national pride if you`re a Brit or just plain supported him.
<

I am not much of a Hodgson fan myself, i find him very boring and he has quite an annoying accent. But, there is no doubt he deserved his wsb title, he did what he needed to do and showed again how well Brits can ride superbikes. I will not support him for the sake of him being british mind. I would like to see him on a competetive bike again, since i dont think he has been able to do himself justice i the AMA series or his sub par gp effort. But i dont see him winning another title, he wont find himslef back in gp's if he goes wsb he is gonna have to face Biaggi, toesland and of course Bayliss, and BSB would leave him up against Kiyo, Haslam, Lavilla and walker. Lets hope he can show the world again how good he is. Afterall he did beat chris walker in one of the most competative BSB seasons ever.

chris was beaten by his ...... bike not Neil

Sure, if they didn't bother to train, work thier ... off, be consistent, push themselves as hard as possible, and instead just sat in the pits cultivating a beer gut while the championship organisers decided to award them points for "being a good bloke", they didn't deserve it. But I can't think of a situatuion where that's ever happened, can you? Every world champ, be it MotoGP or WSB, has had to give it 110%, and work thier hardest, because a competitive WC grid is full of guys doing the same thing, so if you don't do it, some other guy will and beat you to the title. IMO there's never been an "Undeserving" World Champion.

And the Hodge does have a very annoying accent

He has same accent as me !!!!!!!!!!

I am also gonna tell him what you said!!! your in big trouble !!!!

The Hodge's accent is kick .... Too many Hodge Haters out there, only joking guys.

I wouldn't consider myself a hodgson hater, i respect him. Just not a fan really. As for walker being beaten by his crappy bike, not by hodgson, that turns back to the same old argument we all have at some point, and i have to argue that walker scored less points than the hodgeson, hodgeson was the champion, and therefore the best rider of that year. Maybe not the fastest guy on the day, but the champion still.

Just picked up todays racer mag and in hodge's column he says hes in negotiation with foggy.. and that all the previous problems between them have been cleared up..

Looks pretty certain to me thats where hes headed.. although he says he has a couple of other options should it all go .... up

I'm actually starting to wish he'd signed for Rizla Suzuki in BSB.. then we could (potentially) have seen Walker and Hodgson in the same team..

I don't hate him, Ooost. He just talks funny.

Nah seriously, I just don't think Hodgson's that hot, that's all.

This is gonna be good, I'm signing up to WSB.tv this year just to hear the interwiews... and watch Bayliss kick Biaggi's ....

Foggy does come acros as brash and arrogant, but some sportsman do if they have the tools to back it up.

I had the privilage of meeting Foggy and his lovely wife Michaela at a book signing and he come across as a friendly down to earth guy.

Foggy has stated that if he survives WSB and gets a decent engine manufacturer on board to replace the heap of .... that the team already has, he would welcome Hodgeson without a doubt, regardless of their past differences, Foggy considers Hodge to be a World class rider and if the business depends on it that descision has to be considered from a business point of view.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dazza @ Dec 8 2006, 11:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Foggy considers Hodge to be a World class rider and if the business depends on it that descision has to be considered from a business point of view.

monumental U-turn from Foggy then.

"It's cowardly because I can't go out there and race anymore and do anything about it. And people will know for sure that it's an absolute lie. They will realise that Neil is trying hard not to be boring. He has a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same breath as me. He has won nothing yet – he was given the World Superbike title this year."

bearing in mind Neils distinctly average MOTO GP/AMA career - i'm not sure where Foggy has suddenly developed this new found respect ?
