FOLLOWING THIS morning's revelation that reigning MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi has already earned over £20 million from wages and sponsorship fees in 2010, making him the world's seventh-highest paid athlete, the lovely guys at GPOne.com have been calculating who earns what in MotoGP.



And, for some, it's not as much as you might think ...



The figures below represent an estimate of the flat salary the riders are paid by their teams, not including sponsorship deals etc.

GPOne probably didn't think to check the tax records for Earl's Used Cars in Owensboro, Ky.
 
Some are quite low in comparison.....must be difficult to share the same track with others earning 20-30times more?

Same is true in any sport. The superstars will make huge multiples over guys making the league minimum. Granted other sports have more than 18 players, but the champions are always going to make a ton more than guys on the bottom.
