MotoGP Rumor Mill

I'd rather see Shinya on a duck and make it past the one year course for a Ducati with out the #65 on it!

I`d like to see Nakars on a good bike too (I just wish that bike could be a Kawa

) But that`s the first I`ve heard of him going to Konica Minolta next year....

I have heard that Shinya is in talk with his current Team to extend is contract at Kawasaki

i think it was in turkey not china.

ditto! let's see nakano on a honda & see if he's as good as everybody tabs him as bein

I think Nakano deserves a chance on a competitive bike, as Richo said I hope that will be the Kawa (some day....)

I think Kawa are parting ways with Suter, so they will make the full bike in Japan, I hope it helps them improve a little.

James Toseland announces today that he will not be making the move to MotoGP next year, and has decided to stay with Team Kate for another year in WSB.

Alright that rules out one possibility of the riders for D'Antin next year.

Who do you all think will ride for them next season?

Hoffman? Cardoso? Biaggi? Ellison?!?

anyone eles think JT might be sealing his fate by not moving now? He`ll be what? 26 at the end of next year? Not old by a long shot, but not exactly young either. Did he say why he`s not going? He might be being convinced to stay by the idea of winning his second SBK title, but he won`t get any younger chasing it.

^ That was one of the main reasons given, to win a second WSB crown with Team Kate.

BTW cool Photo xB Rida, do you still want to change your username? if so PM me.

Cheers

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Hayden 'planning to stay with Honda'.

Unsurprisingly, MotoGP World Championship leader Nicky Hayden claims he is planning to stay with Repsol Honda for what would be a fifth season in 2007.

However, the 25-year-old American is yet to sign, possibly because he is holding out for a better deal from HRC or because he is seriously considering other options.

Should Hayden win the world title then his bargaining power would obviously be significantly increased, a valid reason for the delay, but he may also feel that HRC is building its future too closely around 20-year-old rookie team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who sits second in the championship and 25 points behind the #69.

Nicky's two options of interest outside Honda would be a switch to the factory Yamaha or factory Ducati teams - both of which currently have one seat spare for 2007 (alongside Valentino Rossi at Yamaha and Loris Capirossi at Ducati).

"I'm more focussed on this year, I don't want to look too far ahead and get wrapped up worrying about the future, said Nicky of his future. "My plan, if things work out, is to stay with Honda but I have a few good things going... Right now it's all about trying to win the title and enjoying these last five races."

The Japanese Grand Prix on September 24, the home event for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki, is likely to see many of the still-to-sign riders finalise their 2007 plans, which will be the first season of 800cc racing.

Rumor is he staying cause he's working on a Honda 800 ride for 08.
he wants a competative bike, and didn't feel the D'Antine Ducks were gonna be there...

I bet James Toseland aint going to MotoGP yet cause honda have told him that if he wins WSBK championship next year, then they will give him a .... hot honda. With Ten Kate on it.

Maybe they are

The way I understand it is there`s no real links between the Honda SBK teams and the Honda motoGP teams. Honda, along with all the Japanese manufacturers, have no official presence in the WSBK series, and haven`t since the big shift to MotoGP with the 990s at the end of 2002. Ten Kate is under the influence of Honda Europe, while the Repsol, Gresini, LCR and Konica Minolta teams work with HRC and Honda Japan. Ten Kate, the best Honda team in the WSBK series, gets very little factory support from Honda compared to the top GP teams, so why would Gerrit ten Kate want to give his best rider away to the motoGP paddock when he gets nothing in return? By the same token, why would HRC, who work mainly with the GP teams, reward a rider with an 800 ride for winning a SBK championship? I do think it`s very possible that JT will be on a Honda GP bike in '07, but I don`t think Ten Kate will be happy to see him go, and I don`t think HRC have told him he`ll get a GP ride in '08 if he wins the title. They might give him the ride, and that might be what he`s aiming at, but I doubt Honda have promised him anything yet.

The rumours of the dismissal of Sete Gibernau in 07 are greatly exagerated.

However Makoto Tamada is expected to spend more quality time with his family and friends.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Edwards demands to know his future

Colin Edwards is demanding to know by the end of this Malaysian Grand Prix weekend whether or not he’ll remain as Valentino Rossi’s team-mate next season. The American will be sitting down with Yamaha bosses in Sepang to find out if he has a job for 2007.

As his future remained undecided Edwards, speaking to Motorcycle News, said, “I need to know something in Sepang. Results are the number one thing and if I’d had better results there is no question I’d be staying with Valentino.”

The double World Superbike champion has already rejected a surprise offer to move to the Tech 3 Yamaha team who already house Carlos Checa and James Ellison. It's thought that Edwards' decision to reject the offer is because Tech 3 are not supplied with Michelin tyres. When asked about a possible team switch the American was very clear about his decision, “I've been asked if that would be a consideration and my answer was absolutely not – I would go home before that, and that's nothing against Dunlop or the Tech 3 team. It's just not a vision I have; it doesn't even come into play.”

It's a strong possibility that Edwards will remain with his current team, after an attempt to lure rookie Casey Stoner away from Honda failed.

Edwards said, “I know Yamaha had a plan to bring Stoner in so they're definitely looking around. I don't think its gone cold with Stoner. I think it just doesn't exist anymore.”

Twenty year old Stoner has said he's happy to stay where he is, “Everybody knew [Yamaha] were talking to us again and all of a sudden they stopped. I'm happy where I am. With Yamaha I don't really know what's going on. There were stories out in Italy that I wanted millions of dollars and the same bike as Valentino. That's a load of crap.”

It's silly season in MotoGP as out of contract riders attempt to secure their position for the following year and Edwards is not the only one in doubt as to where his future lies. Things are not looking good for Britain's James Ellison. Not only have his Tech 3 team attempted to sign Colin Edwards they're also talking to Japanese 250 rider Hiroshi Aoyama. Alex Hofmann of the Pramac d'Antin MotoGP team and Tech 3 test rider Sylvain Guintoli are also said to be under consideration.

Biaggi Suzuki deal already done?

Former MotoGP star Max Biaggi may have already signed to ride for Alstare Suzuki in World Superbikes next season, according to BSB race winner Scott Smart.

Vivaldi rider Smart is at the Lausitzring this weekend for TV commentary commitments and spoke to Crash.net Radio about the latest WSBK paddock rumours - including the future of former four-times 250cc world champion Biaggi, facing the choice of a satellite d'Antin Ducati MotoGP ride or a factory Alstare Suzuki WSBK seat for 2007.

"I think there's probably quite a lot of foundation for that," said Scott, when asked about the Biaggi to WSBK rumours. "The Battas have been running the Corona Alstare team for a long time, and used to run a GP team, so they've got an awful lot of experience and are one of the teams that would appeal to Biaggi. There were obviously lots of rumours about him riding for them this season, but if it wasn't a full factory bike he wasn't interested.

"But Biaggi hasn't got any really competitive offers in MotoGP next year so he needs to look towards this paddock, and the Suzuki is a factory bike, so it looks like it could be a very strong possibility. To be fair, talking to Francis Batta in their hospitality, I think it's probably a done deal..."

35-year-old Biaggi, a winner of 42 grands prix, lost his grand prix seat at the end of last season after falling out with Honda.

Reigning world champion Troy Corser and Yukio Kagayama currently ride for the Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra team, but are only fifth and seventh in the world championship standings with three rounds still to go.

So no James Toseland or Biaggi then who will ride on D'antin Dukes?
