MotoGP Rumor Mill

D`antin on `stones? Good choice. Dunlop deserve to be given the flick. I mean, having the worst tyres on the grid is one thing, but when you`ve only got two teams, playing favourites won`t help your cause.
Does anyone think Ellison`s job might look shakey if JT comes to motoGP? I mean, assuming JT can consistently beat JE (Which he may not do) will Dorna shift their "sponsored brit" support to D`antin? That would work against Ellison`s case for sure, Tech 3 rely on that kinda support, and I suspect it`s one of Ponchiral`s main motives for keeping Ellison.

So in the end, who are the riders confirmed for next season? With contract signed and everything?
Rossi, Melandri and Capirossi? Anybody else?

well i can't see Johnny Hopper Show Stopper leaving, or Vermeulen for that matter... so its probably safe to add them to ur list

Everyone knows that Mexicans are temp workers. I seriously doubt that Pedrosa has even a contract or anything of the kind. He may be paid by the race.

wow

wow, that is so wrong, but so funny...
<

so what you think on his off time he mows the grass at the tracks he goes to??
<

The mower comment is a vicious one, but I'm still amazed at seeing Pedrosa admitted in every country where motogp goes. I know that Mexicans do need visa to cross the border of the European Union.

Who was sent back at the airport in Shanghai, Stoner? I think it was him who didn't take his passport and he had to flight back and to again.

Of course you didn't, Julian Ryder commented on it at Eurosport. It was quite funny, actually (not for Stoner).

that kid must be so unlucky sometimes .... he lost his passport and some of his prize money last year after his race win at Shanghai after the taxi drove off with one of his bags

Mcnnews...rumours....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Brno also marked that time of the year when the banter surrounding possible rider movements for next season started to reach fever pitch.

On the Australian front, Chris Vermeulen is set to stay at Suzuki and Ducati are said to be courting Casey Stoner. Previously the strongest hint that Casey might leave Honda had been based on the likelihood that he could join Yamaha. But more recently Ducati seems to have firmed up as a contender according to some speculation. 250cc rider Andrea Dovizioso has been linked with a possible LCR Honda MotoGP seat should Stoner vacate. In a surprise twist Garry McCoy could possibly be back in MotoGP sooner rather than later. McCoy has tested a new British machine from four wheel engineering giants Ilmor and it is a possibility that the new machine will make its debut before the end of this season.

The biggest disappointment for Honda in 2006 has been Makoto Tamada. We often saw sparks of brilliance from the Japanese man when he was on Bridgestones in previous years but he has done nothing this year and is likely to be on the outer next year. Shinya Nakano’s name has been linked to the Konica Minolta squad for 2007.

Another rider tipped for a possible move in 2007 is Nicky Hayden. The American has been linked with Yamaha before. Hayden actually had a Yamaha deal in front of him before his initial entry into the GP ranks but he eventually signed with HRC. Yamaha were very unhappy about the negotiations and took the matter to court but it seems now that matter is settled Yamaha are chasing the young American once more. Ducati is also extremely interested in trying to secure the services of Hayden for 2007.

World Superbike star James Toseland has been tipped for a possible Honda ride in MotoGP and that certainly makes sense. MotoGP organisers always try to ensure all the important motorcycle markets have a local hero and it has been a long time since a Brit was competitive in MotoGP. Last week marked 25 years since the last time a British rider won a premier class GP race. Organisers can certainly see the benefits that having a competitive Briton in the championship would bring to the series and there is no doubt they will pull what strings they can to ensure it happens. But it remains to be seen if that will be a possibility for 2007. Some talk has suggested that Toseland and Max Biaggi might be on satellite Ducati machinery next year. Biaggi has been linked to a satellite Ducati seat which would be a welcome return to the GP paddock for the Roman Emperor as, love him or hate him, the GP series is better with him in it rather than sat on the sidelines.

Another Brit name that has recently been mentioned in the same breath as MotoGP is that of Leon Haslam. He has been doing great things of late in British Superbike and his name has been linked with a possible second Team Roberts entry for 2007. However this could be more wishful thinking on behalf of my British sources rather than soundly based on fact. But one thing is certain, Dorna want a competitive Briton in MotoGP and it is not a matter of if, but more of a matter of who and when.

Stoner at Ducati??
<
!! I don't think that can be possible...They fabulate...

Speculations

We'll see

Hopper has one more year left on his contract with Suzuki. He will be there through the 2007 season. Chris the V has one more year as well I think. If he doesn't Suzuki better not be stupid and let him get away.

JT is favored by Ducati, not in a official factory ride since Gibernau and Capirossi are already there. )Gibernau is pretty much a given there) If JT moves up it will be in D'Antin Ducati with very similar bikes to the factory bikes.

Edwards is most thought of to go to SBK next year and give Bayliss a run for his money. Maybe a Edwards for JT switch is probable??

Stoner I think will not go to Yamaha next year because the person that wants to work with him the most is Burgess and he is already with Rossi. If he does the two will not pair up until the 2008 season or more.

Biaggi is to go to the D'Antin squad.

Also, what is known of the Kawasaki team? Nakano and De Puniet I think are both free agents next season. And isn't their manager on the bubble as well? Can someone remind me of his name??

He like Biaggi and if you put pieces together then a Biaggi, Ilmor, Red Bull combination does not sound that bad!

Let's get this silly season started and we're not even at Valencia yet!!

Get it right folks, I said it, Red Bull, Ilmor, Biaggi!! I was the first and if it happens I want a free cap!!

Nakano "linked" to Konica Minolta? Who does all this "linking"? some bored journo in an MCN office cubicle?
<

I'd love to see Shinya on a Honda, we could finally see what he's capable of on decent machinery. No offense richo or teo.
