Hi,

I´m a German student who will work in the U.S. next year. I decided to travel to Laguna to enjoy the MotoGP weekend there. I bought my tickets for Laguna today.

Is there anyone travelling to Laguna? Hey, it will be an another great race weekend, but it could be a bit boring to go there alone......

Sina from Munich/Germany

There are a few people who will be going for sure.
I am one that wishes was going but won't be lol.
Wait til they all come out of the woodwork lol

Hi Sina and welcome to the forum.

There are plenty of fans here that have been to Laguna like the Captain said since the race reopened in 05.

In addition I think you are our 2nd GP fan from Germany, what type of work will you be doing in the US?

All sounds exciting, I will be in the far East so come next May I will be at the GP of China...and who knows try and hop to Sepang and even Mortegi and some point.

Hi,

I will end my studies here in Germany next month (hey, and having a party) and work for a German company in Pittsburgh, PA from April through October 2007. I would like to travel to Cali, so I decided to go to Laguna, too.

I´m quite excited about Laguna. I visited the Sachsenring Grand Prix since 1999 and even Brno one time.

China isn´t bad either. Ok, you don´t know what you are eating there....in Germany we say that Chinese people eat everything which has for legs except a table :)

The 2nd MotoGP fan from Germany.....what a shame!

Excellent, and good luck with that!

I like both tracks, do you have any pictures that you care to share in our gallery?

I didn´t know that there is a gallery :)

The track in Brno really is better than in Germany. Anyway, in Germany we have allways had the better parties.

Let´s see how Laguna will be. Would be really great to meet some people there.

Hi Sina. Welcome to the forum.

I have gone to Laguna Seca the last 8 years, when WSBK & AMA raced on the same weekend, now of course with MotoGP. Last year they had a traveling program set up by Speed Channel & Red Bull that organized riders coming from all parts of the country. They had various check points in all the states and many cities where people could hang out and have drinks and Red Bulls (of course) and continue the journey to Laguna Seca. I live in California, but I still went to one of these checkpoints to see the fun (Cali is a very large state, so they had a few checkpoints here). I'm sure they are going to do the same thing next year and perhaps, I hope, with greater fanfare now that the American Nicky Hayden is the Champ. I suggest you keep your eye out on Speed Channel's website or Mazda Laguna Seca's website, I'm sure they will give some information on this as the race date approaches.

Good luck. I hope you enjoy yourself and have a good experience here in this country.

(if you need more info I could help)

Roger you are a funny but twisted man. Actually I have taken my bike around the track. Every year at the race you can buy something called a "parade lap" where you take your bike out on the track before the main event of the weekend. It's pretty cool but you don't get to do it at speed. You are accompanied by many other riders. I'm not sure, but I imagine they have track days there.

Anyway, if either you or Sina make it out, I would be glad to host.

Yes, I have heard of the parade lap. Seems to be a good thing. We don´t have something like that here in Germany at Sachsenring.

I have been a bit surprised that AMA and WSBK is more popular in the states than MotoGP. Here in Europe most people know MotoGP rather than WSBK. MotoGP is huge success especially in Italy and Spain.

A greater fanfare? Oh, at Sachsenring we always have a full house. It´s sold out some months before the race weekend. Wenn I bought my tickets last week I was really surprised that the packages for Laguna have been sold out.

Alex Hoffmann? Who is that guy? No, no, just kidding. Yeah, he´s a shame, too.
