MotoGP: 2015 round 18 - Valencia (SPOILERS)

soooooo - does anyone have any predictions yet?

Prediction: FIM will continue to dither leaving Judge Judy to be called in to read the riot act to both Vale and Jorge - suggesting the possibility of handing the championship to Marquez. Vale will have an extra security team assigned to prevent anyone from putting a pie in his face. No matter who wins at Valencia, the podium ceremony will be marred by deafening booing, audible across Europe. Handbag fights and burnings of tiny Spanish midget cars will break out. The blow-up Rossi ... doll will be taken off the market, leaving Talpa brokenhearted. Marc will be so impressed by Judge Judy that he'll convert to Judaism. Dani will win and nobody will notice.

Parkes to ride the Ioda at Valencia:

Broc Parkes will make a return to the MotoGP World Championship for the 2015 finale in Valencia as the latest replacement for the injured Alex de Angelis at IodaRacing.

The experienced Australian competed in his first season of MotoGP racing last year with the Paul Bird Motorsport team before a move to British Superbikes in 2015 was curtailed after a run of disappointing results.

Having focused on endurance competition for the second-half of the 2015 season, Parkes will get back to frontline international competition with a ride on the ART-prepared by IodaRacing in Spain.

He will be the second rider to stand in for de Angelis, who suffered a series of injuries in a crash during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, after Parkes' countryman Damian Cudlin rode the bike in Australia and Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Ioda has confirmed de Angelis will make an appearance in Valencia, his first public appearance since the Motegi accident, which left him in hospital for 19 days.

Lorenzo wins the race.

I expect MM and VR to have a battle.

You think VR will get through the field that fast or do think he will start up front?

Your top three will be 99, 93, 26 in some order (I am thinking that order). Followed by Iannone. I think the big question is how close is Iannone to Dani? Close enough for a battle?? If they are battling, might let VR catch them.

Then you will have the Smith, Cal, Dov and like group, a sec or so back. I think VR can get to this group pretty fast, but how many laps and how much damage to his tires will it take to get around them?

Then how many laps does he have to close the gap on Iannone and does he have the rubber left to get around him??

Should be "Interesting" TM.

I predict I will be sad when Nicky crosses the finish line. End of a wonderful era for me. It's a fitting exit to all the drama. MotoGP doesn't deserve him.

Nicky's family will be happy to see him again.

The closeness of this championship would probably have seen the retirement of a World Champion a sidenote. But these shenanigans will probably see it barely mentioned.
He'd better be hauled up onto the podium for a goodbye. Doubt it. Sadly.
A gracious guy who I hope kills it in SBK

If Honda gets him a good bike for 2017 I think he will kill it.

True, but that's a big IF. Honda has broken a lot of promises to Nicky, I have no idea why he stays loyal to them. Nicky would be more competitive on a non-factory ZX-10R than he'll be on the factory CBR.

Here's hoping. He can use 2016 to learn the bikes and hit the ground running in 2017.

Because American Honda have given Nicky an awful lot, most likely including a 'factory' salary.

He's still out there to make a living, and since Honda has done quite a bit for him, I don't see a problem with him returning the favor. But I believe in returning loyalty to those who helped make certain things possible with your career. Just how I feel.

If the two of them get within striking distance of one another - and they actual duel - somone's gonna fall, or come VERY close. Personally I think Rossi will charge though the field and play it safe for the minium position to win. He'll be coming to get his souvenir and take it home for Uccio to polish.

Rossi could use him as a "living shield".
